COIT Services, Inc. False/Misleading Aledged Discounts when services are performed Burlingame California

This company scammed me and I am certain that they routinely scam many, many customers by providing postcards or on line aledged discounts if you contract for their services.  In 2014 I contracted with COIT to clean the duct work, sevice my furnace, clean a love seat and sofa, and clean my carpets in two rooms.  A few weeks ago I received a reminder that it had been over a year since my carpets were cleaned and they postcard offered a 40% discount for new services.  

i contacted COIT, made an appointment to have the traffic areas "only" in a bedroom and living room area only Cleaned.  Before the COIT employee hung up she reminded me to be sure I received the 40% discount they were granting me.

When the serviceman arrived I requested a price for the level of effort.  He stated "Well we have a $180.00 minimum.  I said ok but then I have a card that promises a 40% discount.  He advised that it was not applicable because of the $180.00 minimum.  He had me sign a statement that reflected a service charge of $26.00 and the rest was just identified as $154.00.

i contacted COIT after he left and expressed my concerns about the refusal to honor my 40% discount.  A manager called me and said she wanted to give me some gift certificates to "make up for the misunderstanding".  I was offended.  She said "yes we do have an $180.00 minimum."  I advised her that when booking the appointment no mention was made of a minimum that "is" obviously higher than what another carpet cleaning company would charge for the effort. She said it was the clerks error.

i refused her gift certificates, feel scammed etc.,  I then went on their website and COIT has many, many discount coupons and a notation that the " discount does not apply to the service charges".  Their website implies that their discounts apply to the balance of the bill which, in my case was $154.00".  There is a note that states minimum order amount applies but no where on their website, their postcards etc., do they cite a $180.00/minimum or any minimum charge Or the exclusion of the the discount offered.

COIT sends out discount offers, publishes discounts coupons on their website, however, their quoted minimums when they arrive at a customers residence (they claim) that the discount doesn't apply because of the high minimum.  

COITs deceptive advertising practices, failure to quote a minimum order exemption from the offered discount etc. is despicable, misleading and is a means of attracting customers only for the customer to be denied the quoted discount they were originally offered And resulted in their successfully getting the business. 

i am entitled to a $61.60 reduction for the level of effort they performed and COIT needs to provide the refund and they ALSO need to note their minimum, if they really have one, on their large discounts offered to lure customers in.
