Columbia Dental Care took my mother's upper teeth out, left her in pain for many days, and tried to fit her for flexible partial dentures afterwards. The product came out with the teeth comically large and the dental assistant laughed at her making my mom feel awful and cry for many nights. She was told she could only see the dentist who saw her on Thursday June 12th and not the original dentist who sold her on the flexible dentures by using a very nice model in his examining office. Doctor Kleitches took money from her son for the partials in advance and refused to speak with my 70 year old toothless crying mother.

The appointment with a Dr. Christopher LaTorre for 11:30 AM was cancelled the minute she arrived after her son drove her to the appointment. They were told that there was no appointment and that they sent a letter in the mail showing what the refund would be which was only 100 dollars out of $1,500.00 spent. The office help said that if she and her son didn't leave they would call the police. So they left without the partial giant teeth and they called the cops anyway. The bone-headed Forest Acres Police department sided with the crooked business owner and now my mom has no teeth and feels life isn't worth living. That's how much Columbia Dental Care cares about their elderly patients.

The patient passed away.

The patient passed away on January 19 2015 without the teeth she needed to chew food and provide nutrients to her body Columbia Dental Care kept them to this day along with payment for services horribly rendered.

The Concept of Humanity

The level of care a patient and customer experiences from Dr. Klietches and Doctor Christopher Latorre and their staff at Columbia Dental Care is an embarrassment to the concept of humanity. They were suppose to do a professional job and with professional results. However they did a lousy job with cheap material results that didn't fit or match and were ugly and uncomfortable and caused my family pain and sorrow. Then they became defensive about it. Truly the worst dental office on the planet. Don't give them your business. They are uncaring and don't follow through with customer satisfaction at all. Such a horrible dentist and uncaring staff.

Because of Columbia Dental Care's abuse and negligence and incompetence, my mom had a nervous breakdown and had a stroke losing feeling on the right side of her body and will need nursing home care without teeth until she dies. The woefully aesthetically inferior dentures Columbia Dental Care kept without a full refund. That is how Columbia Dental Care treats their elderly patients. I don't have the time or energy to sue them or go to the magistrate to wait a year for a court hearing in front of an possibly incompetent judge in Columbia South Carolina. I now have to take care of my mom getting her into a nursing home. I will go to the media to settle things if I can possibly manage the time between staying up night at rehab with her, but I doubt it. Thanks Columbia Dental Care for all your incompetent and crooked business.

158.00 in refund, not able to pick up because not allowed near office.

Also Columbia Dental Care said she could pick up a $158 dollar refund out of the 1,500.00 their keeping. In the letter they said she could pick up the check without her teeth at their office but she can't because they will call the police if my toothless 70 year old mother shows up. The bone-headed Forest Acres Police Officer spoke for the business (which they were not suppose to do) and the officer handled the package of my mom's teeth in front of her face telling her that she can take it or leave it but not come back for her teeth. The officer threaten to arrest her son just for complaining about the abuse of the situation and the officer dangling her teeth in front of her and the Columbia Dental Care office personel let the officer speak for the business and he did handle the package which was not his job. I'm filing a complaint against the officer with his Chief and have spoken to the lieutenant in which the lieutenant did confirm it was not the officer's job to speak for the business and their operation.

Columbia Dental Care Continued

The refund Columbia Dental Care thought was fair and caring from their negligence was $158 dollars but she can't receive it because the bone-headed Forest Acres Police Department decided to speak for Columbia Dental CAre (something that is not part of their job) saying the 70 year old toothless elderly patient can't go near the property. The cop held her teeth in its packaging in front of her telling her that she can take her teeth or leave them but she can't go back. Columbia Dental Care approved of the moron police departments disorderly conduct. Just another example of how much Columbia Dental Care cares about their elderly patients.

Disputed charges with bank.

This complaint is being disputed with the bank after Columbia Dental Care offered only a partial refund in exchange for removing all complaints including this one and the one filed with Better Business. This complaint can only be amended as a resolution and the complaint with Better Business stands as resolved: Customer unsatisfied with the compromise offered by the business Columbia Dental Care. One partial $500 dollar charge was refunded on 6/10/2014 and OKed by the business owner for the reason on the receipt being (Customer unsatisfied with partial). The other money charged on 5/28/2014 toward the partial is being resolved as a dispute with the bank because the money was paid toward the partial that the business owner OKed as (customer unsatisfied with partials). While attempting to resolve this dispute, the business owner gave Hippa Laws as an excuse for not discussing the matter of refitting even though consent for the family member was clearly given on numerous visits in person and quality of care was discussed without any mention of Hippa laws on all previous visits. Even though one partial refund was granted, Columbia Dental Care's automated billing statement reflects no refund at all even the one that was given on 6/10/2014. Columbia Dental Care continues to bill for what they already approved as a refund and offered as a compromise with an additional conflicting compromise of $158.00 which makes no sense, and which only goes to prove their disconnect with customer and patient relations. A resolution from their compromise dictating removal of all complaints could not be met because A. It required a signature from both patient and family member (son) that they would give up their right to free speech in exchange for removing this post and complaint filed with The South Carolina Dental Association. B. Because the 70 year old patient without teeth or partials (thanks to Columbia Dental Care), had an accident and broke her hip and is hospitalized. And C. This service does not allow removal of complaints to protect the rights toward freedom of speech for all consumers treated badly by business establishments that operate in opposition to customer satisfaction. I offered to resolve this matter by speaking to the business owner but the business decided to use the police department to thier devious advantage (for no good reason) and furthermore distance themselves from consumer complaint by using Hippa Laws as a barrier and an excuse for not discussing the matter even though I was well within the rights of Hippa to discuss the matter: Patient was family member and gave consent.
