Columbia House slow prossessing, abused & mistreated, Late Charges accrueing Terra Haute Indiana

September of 2002, I joined Columbia house and sent my 1st order along with a check for full pymnt. Knowing full well what the fullfillment requirements were. About 4 wks later I receive my shipment along with a bill stating I owe for that shipment. So I drafted a letter stating it was pd in full when I placed the order. The next month I receive another bill reflecting the amt due plus interest. I sent that bill back stating again to check records cause it was paid. Another bill comes with more interest due and threatening collections. I then drafted a longer letter stating all I had previously written and then some. I get a letter from customer service asking me for the cancelled check and a list of CD's that I had received. Now come-on they don't even know what they sent me? I proceeded to gather, draft another letter stating to close the acct. and a problem with 2 of the CD's, and that they now owed me $1.85 in postage for they're screw up ( it's the principle ). This is now January, 2003. A letter from them saying I cannot close acct until I fullfill my end of the agreement. Which was to buy 5 more CD's in the next few years or I could buy the 5 now for $97.85. Now imagine my chagrin when they are asking for more money for more messed up CD's. They did not even acknowledge the bad CD's or the postage due me. I wrote a full page letter stating how huge corporations like they draw up these binding contracts which a high dollar lawyer could spend 1/2 of his career trying to untangle the mumbo-jumbo. Oh yeah, I sent them a check for $100.85 an extra $2.99 for a 6th CD that was priced at that. I thought this was not a whole lot to ask for after all this. 5 weeks later (4/15/03) I receive 5 CD's, I guess $2.99 was alittle too much for them to handle. Nor was anything mentioned about the postage or the messed up CD's. Nor did they ever admit that they were wrong or apologize for anything. 7 months of frustration with these people. They Suck. The music they carry is old, very old, cannot find any new stuff. I'm glad it's over. Susan Phoenix, Arizona
