wedding held at hillcrest country club on feb 16, 2014

was recommned by vender on ther list

complete media event

paid 5,000 dollars for pictures, video and dj

numerous pictures taken at the celebration, we gave him specific of what we wanted such as immediate family portraits, such as mother and bride, bride and sister, family of bride and table photography of the families at the tables, none of this occured . all attendants comming down the isle , the photogrpher decides to stand on side and not in front so the pictures are all on side and none centered in the front just plain bad photogrphy and the owner is standing beyind his photogropher .

so we are left with a high cost wedding with no pictures of the family of the bride to put in a box or to make a collage and or family portrait.

let me attach email he sent is

thanks

Hi Gabriella,

Thank you for your email.

You are correct, I did not give a resolution to you because I wanted to know what you felt was a fair resolution.  I also did not want to offer something that would either offend you or to offer something that you did not want.  In the meeting, you and your mother mentioned a few times “when is the next time all of you be dressed nice and together in the same place”.  I don’t think it is unfair to suggest a “family session”. You don’t have to wear your dress and the guys don’t have to wear their tuxes because we are not trying to recreate the wedding day.  We are creating a beautifully done family portrait.  You can use the pictures as Christmas cards or just as a beautiful family portrait.  Again, this was not meant to recreate the wedding day.

I also mentioned in the meeting that the photographer asked you, your mother and husband before leaving if there were any more pictures you wanted him to take.  That is when you gathered several different family members and different friends for more pictures.  He stayed 20 minutes past his contracted time to get those pictures for you.  After he was finished, he asked again if there were any other pictures you wanted him to take for you.  Everybody told him no, so he packed up and left.  You said the photographer was liable which puts the full blame on the photographer as being negligent.  I do not feel the photographer neglected his duties.

The photographer delivered over 1,000 pictures in the 6 hour timeframe.  Out of those thousand pictures, you feel that we did not give you 2 separate shots.  What reimbursement do you suggest?

I am still willing to do what I can to make you happy

The total cost of the package that included photo, DJ, video, lighting and photo booth was $4,500.  However, the actual photo package was $1,200.

I did offer to do a family session for Christmas cards or whatever they wanted.  This was not to try to re-create the wedding.  In our conversations, the client said that they do not have any pictures of their entire family together and dressed nice.  I thought it was a nice gesture to offer to take pictures at the location of their choosing, to invite whomever they wanted and to give them as much time as they wanted.  Again, I thought this was a nice gesture but they were deeply upset by this.

I also told them that we could do Photo Shopping to add, remove, reposition people into any pictures that they wanted.  At first, they were happy with this option.  Later, I was told that this was also not acceptable.

I am sorry that these clients are not happy.  I offered several solutions and even asked what could be done to make them happy.

I am still willing to do what I can to make them happy.

OK,

At first I was all poor lady.  You should have gotten some photos of the family and the bride and groom.

I had a similar problem where there were NO PHOTOS of me the freaking Bride!  NONE.

However, how is it that they stayed late and took more photos for you, and gave you over 1000 images, and your still not happy?

I think your posibly disapointed they are not what you invisioned, and/or what you thought you would look at.  That is not their fault.

Franly, as he said in his email, what did you want a a resolution?  And you seriously cannot find enough photos out of 1000 that you can use?  Really?

They seem to have done more than 1 wedding, did you not tell them in advance which photos were important to you to begin with?  Did they never talk to you?  Did you not have a list of what photos were important in the contract?

You might in retrospect think the photographer should have "done what is standard" but ther is no such thing.  If you never TOLD  them what you wanted how were they suposed to know!?

BTW: I am just a random person who happened to see your complaint.  I think you paid a good deal of money, but you say that included other things.

It is OK to be disapointed, but it it too much to blame your lack of expressing your expectations.
