Consumer Protection Publication's advertisement and services are very misleading. I am having such a hard time getting hold of anybody at that office and I've been calling and leaving messages and when I do get to speak to a live person, they just tell me that Neva (manager) will get back to me, but it's been weeks now and no phone calls from them.

I also asked for William Crosby, but he's always in a meeting. also they only have limited staff that is never available.

I've first gotten a telemarketing call from them saying that they offer a debt consolidating service. and at that time, I was just fed up with all these telemarketers, that ask the guy to put me on their 'do-not-call' list. Unfortunately, I didn't make note of this company and that I made a request to be removed from their list, if I had done that, then I could have reported them for a violation. Anyway, about a week later, they call me again as if I had asked them to call me.

But, before I turn them down this time, I wanted to hear what they had to say. Well, the sales person explained how their program will offer people like me with low interest rate credit card and that will help me consolidate my debt, because they have all the resources working with the fin. institution. Months prior to this call, I had some unsuccessful experience with consolidating my debt and the reason I wasn't approved was due to 'high credit limit' and nothing else was wrong with my credit history. So, I wasn't sure if CPP could help me with my case. I honestly explained this situation to the sales guy first and asked him what this program do for me. And he spoke as if he was a financial advisor and asked how much debt I have and asked if I know my credit rating and stuff and what interest rate I pay stuff and told me did some thinking and told me that they work with one of the biggest institutions and he named couple of them. and that I will get approved w/o a problem! guaranteed!

Maybe he was too excited on making a sale so he was telling me what I wanted to hear, rather than being honest on what consequences I might have to face in the future by buying this so called program. Well,I don't fall into these things, so I took my time to ask him all the questions and when I felt I was convinced, I purchased the progrm. this call lasted about 25 minutes of question after question. Anway, he went over the cost of this service and stuff, he said that he's going to have the mananger record this order, and that's their policy. So, I was okay with that recording. But now I think about it, I know why they didn't record the most important part of the conversation, when he was giving his personal guarantees by saying that i will get approved and the whole conversation that I had for 25 minutes.

So basically, they give their words to consumers and make misrepresentation, but once a consumer seems convinced enough to buy this program, then that's when they think it's necessary to record a conversation? they advised that I must answer 'yes'to all the questions to finalized the sale. they were just reading a script, and they didn't say anything about how I was personally guaranteed by the sales person. Don't you think that part should have been recorded as well?

Anyway, I rcvd my packet and there was nothing to see. But I followed all their instructions and purchased 3-in-1 credit repots and was asked to write a dispute letter to the credit bureaus, which I never had problems, but they insisted that I write them a letter and also closed all my cc accts and made min. monthly payments. I called CPP and Spoke to Julie and Neva I guess 3 times the most and they gave me couple of numbers to call to these institutions where they can offer me a low int. rate cards. I did, and I was denied for a 'high credit limit' and I called back explained that to Neva and she said there might be a problem with my credit report.

Um. there were no problems! So, this whole process of writing letters and disputing took couple of months and I was given another place to try and guess what? I was denied yet again for the same 'high credit limit' reason. They knew all along this was the only thing that was keeping me from getting approved, but now when I spoke to a girl name Jessica earlier today, she said that I should pay more on my monthly payment and when the balance goes down lower, then apply again. Had I been aware of this process, I would not paid CPP close to $500 when nothing was guaranteed and they don't even have any relations to these fin institutions.

With that outrageous fee, I could have paid off one of my low balance credit card but I was told otherwise by the rep. Plus, some of these instutions, you could get their info by doing a search on google or msn search engine. If they were to be a legitimate company then after giving out number and info to these institutions, why would they advise consumers not to tell them about CPP? and also why wouldn't they return my calls? after all, they were paid good compensation.
