  Coral Resort is a RIPOFF, I was on RR from Afghanistan when I was loured into this death trap. I was told that I can get a week in Hilton Head free, and if I wanted to I can sell it for $2,000-$4000 depending when I called it in and the size available. I called and was charged a $300 non-refundable selling fee.  

  I called in the 4th day of January, and in September was wondering what happened, they told me there was no guarente on the sell, when asked my options they told me to call the resort and either use a week or gamble on them selling it by Dec 31st. I tried calling the front desk, to se what can be done she said there was nothing she could do, I needed to call some corporate office, the corporate office said sales were slow this year, so if I want I can pay an addition $300 and they would carry over the the week for the following year, OK fool me once shame on you, so I said that was not an option, so he told me to call Hilton Head back to reserve a week or see what happens, I called and behold, no weeks were available for the rest of the year. Here we are in January and not only lost the week, but $300 as well.

  I now called this week (Jan 2012) and got a run around to book a week this year, was put on hold, and after 30 minutes, I hung up, and asked to talk to the manager, and he acted as if I was bothering him from his morning coffee or something and told me to call another number in Chicago, I called Chicago, they said I don't know why you called us, you need to call Hilton Head, and the run around continues.

  Next week I am personally driving to Hilton Head Coral Resort and... lets hope I do not get arrested if they continue to pull this run around with me.

Update regarding Coral Resorts, we have spoken directly with Coral Resorts LLC and they have handled all issues to our satisfaction, we have no further issues with Coral Resorts.

Finding out what you already know

Thank you for the contact information about the lawyer, I will be contacting them Monday!

We purchased a time share through Coral Resorts back in April 2012.  We have vacationed several years in Hilton Head are were so excited about the ability to continue to vacation there every year with out the hassle of finding a place to stay.  I wish we knew we were going from the frying pan to the fire.  Over the last two days we have discovered most everything others have written. 

Our first payment comes out in 16 days and I am going to do everything in my power to correct our mistake, silly me for thinking that Coral Resorts was an upstanding business with honest employees! Like most people these days, we are financially strapped and put the money we would of used for our vacation toward our down-payment thinking we would be able to reserve our condo 30 days out with no problem, this per our sales person Julie Stefan who assured us, even showed us the available condo for the month of July.  What a joke!!

So now I am really ticked (only G-rated word I can use on this site) and I am looking for help and willing to help others who are in our same situation.  Maybe there can be power in numbers, because right now I am NOT going to shut-up!  Would you be willing to help and/or join the team?

I have a similar story, but was taken while on vacation in Hilton Head.   I can tell you that the SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (Office of Investigation and Enforcement) has secured a lawyer and is currently investigating these sales practices and customer complaints thoroughly.  I spoke with their office today and am currently building my formal complaint to submit.  I would encourage you to visit their website and do the same!  They can be reached at (803)896-4470
