In August of 2011, we attended a time share sales talk at Coral Sands. WE had two friends with us who already own two time shares with other companies.  After talking with the sales person, Judy, we left and wentr to lunch and talked with our friends. WE went back and asked more questions.  Our friends knew what we were looking for and felt that this would be a good fit for us.  

Well we were taken. As I see with other reports on this site, we were told that our developer week would be rented for us if we did not want to use it.  We were told we would get a call in January of every year and if we told them we did not want the week we would be sent a check for $1600. This was used to as an incentive to help with the overall cost.  We were told that the management fee was aboyt $350 a year. Well imagine our suprise when we got a bill for over $950 in January of 2012 and if we did not pay it by the due date we would owe a 50% penalty.

We went back to Coral Sands LLC in APril 2012.  We met with a different sales person, Judy was no longer with the company. We taped our conversation, with consent, and were given the run around. When we asked to speak to the manager we got more run around from him.  We were given untrue answers about RCI and the points to rent units.  The exchange fees were different from one pwerson to the other.  They tried to UPGRADE our purchase to solve OUR PROBLEM. Of course this cost more money.  When we asked how we could get out of the contract we were told we could meet with the customer service person.  Well she had a client so they took our number and we were told she would call us.  SHe never called that day.  The next morning we called the office and again left a message stating that we would be on the island until at least Noon and wanted to speak to her.  Well she never called.  We filed a complaint with the BBB and  the responding person to that complaint from Coral Resorts, Lori  Lucas, continues to lie and misrepresent facts. She claims we were called back by a Ms. Hope  at 8:40 a.m. on Aptil 11, 2012. Well, this is a lie as we were not even on the island at the time and it was the day before we requested a meeting.  Our cell records back this up.

Stay away from these people they are crooks.

Update regarding Coral Resorts, we have spoken directly with Coral Resorts LLC and they have handled all issues to our satisfaction, we have no further issues with Coral Resorts.

We just found out what you already know

We purchased a time share through Coral Resorts back in April 2012.  We have vacationed several years in Hilton Head are were so excited about the ability to continue to vacation there every year with out the hassle of finding a place to stay.  I wish we knew we were going from the frying pan to the fire.  Over the last two days we have discovered most everything others have written. 

Our first payment comes out in 16 days and I am going to do everything in my power to correct our mistake, silly me for thinking that Coral Resorts was an upstanding business with honest employees! Like most people these days, we are financially strapped and put the money we would of used for our vacation toward our down-payment thinking we would be able to reserve our condo 30 days out with no problem, this per our sales person Julie Stefan who assured us, even showed us the available condo for the month of July.  What a joke!!

So now I am really ticked (only G-rated word I can use on this site) and I am looking for help and willing to help others who are in our same situation.  Maybe there can be power in numbers, because right now I am NOT going to shut-up!  Would you be willing to help and/or join the team?
