Brought my beloved cat to CSAH for 2nd opinion to clear up IBS - pancreatitis.  The IBS was diagnosed at another clinic. Brought all test results and xrays to CSAH.  They insisted on doing their own tests.  Reported back to me within 1 hour that my beloved cat has an obstruction in his intestines - was told: "rock - bone - tumor -  or could be cancer of the lining of the intestines" Told they could remove it either doing surgery where they cut his intestines open or endoscopy. They left my beloved cat lay in their lab/clinic for several hours before performing the procedure.

They reserved $10,000 on my credit card within 2 hours of me leaving their clinic after they put thru a charge of $2500.00.  The Vet performed the full blown surgery where he cut my babies intestines open.  He reported back to me that he did not find any obstruction.  The Vet asked me to drop off my cats heart pills that he needed to stay alive; he was AFIB which was extremely well managed by visiting 3 cardiologists. [continued below]....
.....  All the Vets were amazed at my cats strength and ability to fight and bounce back.  The following day he was vocal - happy -purring - affectionate-hitting the technicians when they changed his bandages.  He was eating - drinking - walking.  The following 2 days - the Vets were pumping him with at least 12 different drugs including valium - with holding the heart pills that kept him alive for years.

He died within less than 4 days at this clinic.  His heart stopped! His death was medically induced.  Dr. Morales - Dr. Jehn - Dr. Carpenter - Dr. Fenkle - Dr. Thomas all played a hand in his death.  Not 1 of those specialists came to see me when I arrived to pick up his body.  They made sure I made my final payment - total bill for the privledge of killing my cat was $10,251.00  They are all about the money - I did not witness 1 ounce of compassion from them. I wonder if they heard of "first do no harm"?

CSAH mis-daignosed my cat-$10,251.00 bill

AUTHOR: SHANNON - (United States of America)

CSAH claims Flannigan was "in extremely critical condition".  If this is true- why did it take CSAH Vets 6+ hours to perform surgery on Flannigan? If an animal is in critical condition wouldn't that require treatment within 2 hours or less? Is it possible CSAH designed a treatment protocol that was inappropriate, excessive, abusive to raise this outrageous expense resulting in my cats death?

Within the 6 hours of being introduced to Flannigan - CSAH blocked $10,000 on my credit card.  Is this a standard operation procedure for a Vet Clinic to reserve money on your credit card prior to the procedure? CSAH performed surgery on a cat that had IBD- pancreatitis; which was reported back to the Vets from the lab they use at Colorado State University.

I was informed by the Vets at CSAH that my cat did not have the obstruction they claimed he had. CSAH claims that Flannigan received 24 hr treatment from a team of highly skilled -compassionate Vets. If these Vets are highly skilled; why is it CSAH Vets did not have the proper knowledge-skills-tools to treat IBD/pancreatitis?  Isn't it true that a "rock, bone, tumor or cancer of the lining of the intestines" are all different in shape and size when looking at them under x-rays/images?  Why did all these highly skilled vets overlook that?

Based on the repetitive/similar complaints at CSAH - is it possible there may be something inappropriate going on at this clinic? What does it actually mean that there are so many similar complaints?  Does this mean CSAH takes advantage of the people that are desperatly seeking medical attention for their beloved dog/cat?

Response from Coral Springs Animal Hospital

AUTHOR: Coral Springs Animal Hospital - (USA)

The following is in response to Mrs. Scotts review of Coral Springs Animal Hospital:
When Mrs. Scott first brought her cat, Flannigan, a 16 year old Maine Coon Cat, to our hospital he was in extremely critical condition.  Our doctors and staff made her fully aware of the high likelihood of us not being able to save Flannigans life, and discussed the option of, and recommended humane euthanasia, which she declined.  Mrs. Scott acknowledged and understood, at the time, that Flannigans condition was critical, that the prognosis was poor, and that he had chronic intestinal disease, advanced heart disease, evidence of blood clots in the heart, and chronic irreversible kidney disease. Despite that she directed us to proceed with intensive and critical care. She was given a fee estimate and a legal authorization form both of which she agreed to and signed.
The extent of care given to any pet is ultimately determined by its owner.  In this case, Mrs. Scott declined our recommendation of humane euthanasia, she acknowledged she understood the risks, agreed to the treatment plan despite knowing the prognosis was grave, and advised us to proceed.  For the duration of the four days that Flannigan was hospitalized and treated at our facility, he received 24 hour critical care and monitoring from a team of highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated veterinary professionals who worked around the clock to give Flannigan the best chance for survival possible.  Unfortunately, Flannigan died despite our best efforts.
We invite anyone who reads this response to Mrs. Scotts alleged claims,  to visit our website and/or Facebook page to read the countless testimonials from pet owners whose expectations were met and exceeded in every respect. This practice has experienced dramatic growth in the thirty five years of its existence. We started in 1977 with one doctor and three employees, and now employ thirty three doctors and one hundred and fifty staff members. It is only by consistently meeting or exceeding the varying needs and desires of the large majority of the pet owning public that we have been able to achieve this growth.
Our formula for success is quite simple, quoting from our Doctors Manual,:   "Veterinarians should consider first the welfare of the patient for the purpose of relieving suffering...while causing a minimum of pain or fright. Benefit to the patient should transcend personal advantage or monetary gain in decisions concerning therapy." This animal hospital strives to practice veterinary medicine and surgery with the highest degree of ethics and professionalism.  We have worked hard and have earned a reputation for doing just that.
Mrs. Scott, if you read this, it has been nearly two years since Flannigans passing and we are all still very sorry for your loss.  We are hopeful this clarification of events aids you in the healing process.
