I completed all 6 of the required offers in order to receive my IBM laptop in December of '04. I immediately mailed in my redemption voucher to receive my prize. I waited about 5 weeks, looked on the website again to see if my prize had shipped yet, and it hadn't, so I sent the voucher again. Finally I sent an email. Two weeks went by. I sent another email. Another week went by. Just called them this morning to leave a message.

After leaving the message, went to check my status. The website no longer exists. Fortunately they emailed me another offer, so I was able to track down their new site. They have apparently renamed it so their fraudulant practices wouldn't come up when you typed in Emarket Research Group in your search engine. So now they are the Consumer Incentive Promotions company. Clever. Because I followed their new offer to find out their new url, they erased the status of my previously fulfilled promotion completely. Very clever.

My warning to any of you would be to just go out and buy the laptop or gift certificate or whatever incentive they are offering yourself. In the long run, it will probably cost about the same as all of the offers they want you to fulfill AND it will cost you much less time and hassle.

Nothing comes easy and nothing is REALLY free. The opportunity to get something for nothing is just not realistic. Unfortunately in this case, you get nothing for something. I have given up a great deal of time and money to complete these offers and to fight the unfit practices of this company to no avail.

I suppose calling the FL Attorney General, the BBB and any other organization I can to help put this company out of business is my next course of action. It's really too bad times have changed this much that you really can't trust people like you used to be able to. It's the 1% that make it hard for the 99% that are actually legit, but the selfish pursuit of wealth of the 1% at the expense of others leaves such a bad taste in your mouth that you end up trusting no one.

I was wrong! I got my laptop yesterday!

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 18, 2005

In circumstances like this, I love to be proven wrong. Finally yesterday a customer service rep called to leave me a message with the tracking number of the laptop. I went online to see when it might arrive, and was surprised to find it was shipped out on Valentine's Day even before I sent this report.

I was absolutely wrong and am very happy I was. You must be patient with this company and call customer service to check up on your order. They certainly aren't fast, but they do honor their commitment to getting you your "free" gift.
