I got married Saturday June 17th. I called Country Inn Suites to block out rooms for my guests to stay. They need a credit card to block rooms. I gave them a Master Card for blocking purposes. They advised to call a week ahead to cancel any rooms that were not booked so I would not be charged. I called cancelled the rooms that were not blocked.

As guest arrived at the hotel that day, they paid for their rooms before going to their rooms. My husband and I paid for our hotel room on a different credit card (a Visa) than the Master Card because it was our wedding credit card and it was almost maxed out. My husband's father arrived at the hotel also for his room.

Turns out a week later I find a charge on my Master Card for $97.98 + $29.00 overdraft fee from Country Inn Suites and a charge on my Visa 161.88 from Country Inn Suites. Turns out they charged my husbands fathers room on the Master Card without anyones permission.

I called them about the problem and they are refusing to do anything. They said because I blocked out rooms on my Master Card it was my responsibility. The lady I spoke with was named Cindy she said that my husbands father didn't switch the room to his name? That makes no sense - he booked a room for William (((ROR REDACTED FULL NAME))) - what else do they want?

The hotel itslef would not take any blame. They charged my credit card for someone else's room and it is my fault. My husbands father is completely willing to pay Country Inn or myself the $97.98 - which is fine. And I guess the $29.00 overdraft fee is not that big of a deal, it is the fact that Country Inn Suites refused to do anything for their error. I work in Customer Service - you don't do that to someone who did nothing wrong.

They fraudulently charged my credit card for a room that was NOT authorized to be charged to me. They refused to take any blame for their error. So I am stuck with an additional $29.00 fee becuase the Country Inn Suites Forest Lake Staff are lazy and un-friendly.
