I've been trying to work out a payment plan with countrywide since December of 2007 they requested documentation and a hardship letter stating why i fell behind in my payments. It is now April and as of today April 21, 2008 my status is still pending and there is a saled date of May 27, 2008 on my home.

My Dad was diagnosed with cancer in February of 2007 and my wife injured her back in July and had spinal surgery in October and has since then been in Rehab, home recovering and out of work. She just began walking on a cane almost 2 months ago. Countrywide is well aware of this but still everytime i call i receive different answers and sometimes even gotten nasty responses. I can call 3 times in one hour and get three different answers. I've been told to send payments not to send payments, both mortgages are pending approval, or only one mortgage is in the work out plan. I am currently working full time again and i'm willing to work out a plan but it's hard to do that without any cooperation from a company who claims they want to help me keep my home.

Today i was told I needed $22,000 to bring my loan current. Then 30 minutes later I called and I am told that I am awaiting approval from a loan specialist. The sell date is closing in on me and my family quickly and I have no where else for my family to go. I hope this all settles quickly but I dont think a company thats not in order should be handling people lives in their hands. Maybe if they cant get things in order they should have help in assisting their customers. I dont know where to turn or what to do and calling countrywide everyday to try to find a solution isnt helping me I have about 3 months worth of mortgage on hand because i've been back to work for about 3 months and i was told by a rep that i "should have done better than that". Can they do this and get away with it. There has to be something I can do to not lose my home and have my family go homeless.

People signed up for mortgages they could not afford. They began defaulting. Mortgage companies, not having money due to people defaulting, laid off most of their workers (they cannot pay their workers if people aren't paying their loans). Now they don't have enough employees to handle the calls, the loan modifications, the short sale approvals, etc. Now, those who cannot pay complain they cannot get help. There is no one left to help the people who cannot pay.

I understand there was a reason that you were unable to pay, but because of that someone else lost their job and now they're not there to help you. Hopefully you do get the help you need.
