Attention construction contractors and or general contractors.The company known as Cps security solutions or ( construction protection services) based out of gardena california is a scam security company. they specialize in security for various construction job sites. many sites range from shopping malls to new homes.

The company is well known in CA,AZ,NM,FL,TX,LA. they are not very popular in the northern states. they offer inexpensive security packages in order to save there clients money. How do they save money and cut cost, its a really A simple concept, they just sleep on the job and do absolutely nothing while you build your job site up. this is known as there trailer guard package, 95% of there security jobs are live on the site trailer guard, where as most security companys work by the hour and the guard leaves and either someone relieves them or they come back the next day.

The trailer guards are trained to sleep in trailers and never to come outside of the trailer to check on the job site. they must put out motion sensors ( usually about 12) around the site and if these sensors ring a bell then the guard can come out. this is very unsafe and isnt true security guard work. they have this policy in order to save money. the guard is paid a small salary of about 6 hours per day. and is required to work for free if they walk around big job sites without getting a alarm or ringing bell from motion sensors, this is a violation of the law. no person can work for free.

Lets elaborate more on why cps security is a scam company, this company can barely get jobs in the north where it snows, so that should send red flags everywhere, they never come out to patrol a night in the following states above. if a arson or crazed criminal wanted to terrorize a multi-million dollar site with homes or buildings. they could go to a construction site patrol by this fruad company Cps security and have a field day and the sleeping guard would never know what happened until he awakened.

Its also important to note that cps security solutions does not have a true liability insurance to cover a entire job site should mass vandalism occure such as arson. they can only cover small items that are taken here and there like brass fittings and copper tube pipe ,two by fours and wood. but they dont have a true $100,000,000 insurance for big job sites, and your site is very much so at risk when you hire them. they sleep in old ragid moble homes usually painted red and white. the guards are told to sleep all night long and to never come out because they will have to pay extra for patroling, they are told to work on there own time " for free". if something happens and they cant afford the cost they will bail out and leave you high and dry and you will be on your own.

As a former employee of cps i noticed how they did things and i worked the safe way and patrol after hours, sleeping on the job is unacceptable and could lead to the guard being harmed or killed. someone could come up to your small moble home trailer and shoot you while you are DEAD SLEEP and load up a semi truck with supplys and equipment in under 20 minutes. Also if a major incedent happens on a job site after hours such as arson, when the fire dept investigates, if they dont find any proof that a intruder came on the site and started a fire the guard WILL be held accountable. its happen before in 2004 in virginia where a guard was asleep in his vehicle and homes went up in flames, the police arrested the guard for arson because he said he was sleeping and never saw anything.

because of my skills and ability to do the right thing i was let go by cps for not sleeping in my trailer and guarding to much. i applied for ARIZONA UNEMPLOYMENT and the judge and adudicator agreed in my favor 100%. cps security solutions has lost alot of unemployment cases in many states not just AZ. they have no defense and a person cannot be legally fired for refusing to sleep on the job. they can however be laid off.

cps security knows that they are wrong in how they do business, they advertise low cost construction job site protection.then they hire a bunch of guys from sudan africa who dont have a clue what they are doing and they will just sleep day and night and never bother to patrol your job site, allowing gangs ands mobs to destroy everything you have worked so hard to build.

if you are a major contractor that wants to save a few bucks and you hired cps security solutions, shame on you. Hensel-phelps, Whitting-Turner, Valleyrain construction, ryan constuction, john laing homes, just to name a few cheap scumbag contractors making millions of dollars and hiring someone to sleep on the job rather than work hourly and account for each hour in a daily activity report.

If you are a developer or planner and you want to hire a security company, you should always hire people to work hourly shifts and patrol.if you are a contractor in the southern united states and need a security company after a major hurricane, trust me im from florida, never ever hire this fake sleep on the job security company. local companys are always the best way to go sense the owners dont always care about money. cps securitys CEO SCOTT BARNES in CA is making tons of money for security guards to do nothing and thats got to stop.

He ask a me if i wanna working in stars stripes secuity he tell for me this company is his frends. Armando charge me for get inside the cps comany. I pay cash he giva me day working no night many hours. Armando no do hire, he help for me get in then i pay cash. He wanta more cash me tired to pay Armando i stopp to working.

I just recently started working for this company in California and I just came to read what complaints they may have against them. We don't sleep in trailers here we patrol whatever post we are given and we make reports of our patrol every hour. I found this persons complaint disturbing because it is the opposite of everything that I have been trained to do since I started. My post is 24 hours  but no trailers at our location even though it is a 24 hour post, we are releived by other officers and we call dispatch at every releif change. This isnt my first security job and so far I find that the training they give is much better than you receive at some other security company's. I don't know this persons situation or what experience he had, I do know he must not work for the same branch of CPS in California that I do because nothing he said match's up with what I have experienced. I have a brother that was employed by CPS. He was employed for about three years. And as mentioned, he to went through what the above person went through.
In fact I am here to do research in how to obtain legal action against this company. I do have other friends that are ex employees aswell.

As I have read the letter by "Tony" in Tucson I have to say that he is almost correct in the way that CPS Security does business.  Here are the facts on how the compnay is run.  I was once a Branch Manager for the company so I do know how it is run.

When a company hires CPS, they are told that they will receive twenty four hour coverage.  They way it works is this: the client and guard are both given contracts that state the hours to be worked.  Usually the guard will patrol during the hours of 1600-2000.  Actual physical patrol, M-F. At 2000 he/she will put out the "sensors" usually a house alarm system that they will put in tubes.  These will stay out until roughly 0300, at which time they are collected and the guard goes out to walk the area again until the client is on site. These sensors do have limitations such as weather and the range that they can actually work.  On Sat. and Sun. the guard will patrol for 8 hours and then the sensors are put out for 12 hours at a time.

Clients who do use them are usually not aware that the sensors do not work a good majority of the time.

Security Officers usually do make minimum wage.  Due to the fact that they charge a bill rate of 12-13.00 per hour.  They make their money by charging the client during the hours when the sensors are put out.  Usually the guard does not receive any pay during these hours, unless an alarm is activated, at which time, they must call dispatch located in California.

A majority of the guard force in Arizona during my time we of ethnic background but they always tried thier best given their limititions.

I am not a "disgruntled employee" just someone who wishes to set the record straight.

yeah man, tell you're brother he made the same mistake i did, i should have never got a job with them. the fat cat ceo scott barns just sit on his you know what and get rich. i worked in the phoenix branch where the office is run by a man name robert cave, yes im not making this up, the guy's last name is cave. if you couple that with his disgusting appearance you would realize that he cant ever work around young kids and cps security is his entire life.he was dishonerably discharged from the us-military for being the sick child loving scum bag that he is.

he hired his teenage boy son to be a supervisor over the MEN that have years of work experience. this kid didnt even pass a drug test like every other newhire had to, but he gets to be a manager while papa bear holds his hand and carrys him threw life. not to mention his son cant get in the military cause daddy bear was kicked out and now he has the same name as his father which will show red flags on application if you put your parents as a reference and there past military sf-50 form is on file. what a bunch of losers running a office!!

After i left cps, they lost alot of contracts, they had to buy a new office on 2525 jefferson st, to house all there trailers and equipment, they closed there tucson office for not paying rent. its only a matter of time cps and you be as flat as a pancake!!

first of all i know my facts 100%, you dont know a d**n thing but how to pretend you are a insurance agent and you are really cps security yourself, the average person reading these reports could care less about responding to this report sense Cps Security is not well known or have very much work/contracts because there services suck anyway!!!

give up, i know who you are CPS CORPORATE!!!, why the heck would a insurance person need to challenge my facts, i can understand a retired civil judge or somebody but come on a insurance broker??? nice try guys!!!

let me put you in your place mr or mrs insurance agent, motion sensors are prone to failer okay, they have stupid little batteries that go dead. the average job site is the size of a stadium and thats not enough to protect against true criminals especially in arizona were mexican gangs/drug lords will make the italian mob look like your red headed step child. all security officers must be alert and patroling period and 97% of the security work force will agree with me, think im kidding?? show me another company with trailers and motion sensors?? none!, in fact in the southeast part of the usa most if not all gaurd companys will fire you for sleeping, on the spot.

you said cps security has been around 20 years. whatever, in florida grays security has been around sense 1896, yarborough security sense 1932. cps is a rookie and have no clue how to secure and keep there guards safe. cps is license in FL, but i have never seen a cps trailer on any union or non union job site, hmm thats odd??? i would love to see cps secure a construction job in detroit MI with there stupid little motion sensors and see what happens. the guard wouldnt even know because he will be DEAD sleep when someone drives by and loads a hell of bullets in his trailer with a AK-47. if he is alert and awake that wont happen. most theives just see you and drive off.

you still think im wrong about CPS, i will make you a promise, you pick up the phone and call/interview each security company in your yellow pages, ask them would they ever even consider offering trailer guard sevices the exact way CPS does. 99% will say hell no its too risky and they would rather have a alert standing guard for 8 hours or more per shift. i know because every company i applied for when i left cps told me they would never allow sleeping or motion sensors!!! and last but least WHEN CAN I START WORK!! HA HA HA

still think cps is this good company, just go take a look at there phoenix office on 2525 jefferson st and look at all the security trailers they have stored there from no work. no one wants them. they rather hire a true guard company. cps is suffering and now they realise why, so they lash out like a cry baby and its there own fault. you dont mess with me, when i come to work on time and do my dutys assigned to me, stay clean cut, write incident reports, stop theif and crime, you dont just fire me and call me names for no d**n reason. MESS WITH THE BEST DIE LIKE THE REST!!!

as for me being a ex-employee and pissed off, what business is it of yours?? are you a legal judge. you dont know jack. i won unemployment against cps with a land slide, they didnt even have a chance, yeah sure like they can really tell the apeals board judge i was fired for refusing to sleep in my trailer. ha ha ha. they loose every unemployment compensation case. what does that tell you??

go try to scam somebody else you insurance broker, cps is done and you must be there agent because you are awfully mad over a loser security company that has zero chances of ever coming out of bankrupcy and getting business.

I read through these rip-off reports all the time - and as a someone who knows a lot about certain things I can call people out on their BS.

Look - You really don't have any grounds or factual information to make such harsh statements.

I don't think snow is the reason for not offering services in norther states, I personally think that it is safe to assume that CPS Security Solutions only offer services in states where they are LICENSED to offer services.

To me this sounds like a wonderful process, if a contractor wants to have a guard on a large construction site at all times - and can not afford a team of security officers - he can contract CPS to provide him with an onsite guard that can stay in a security trailer to monitor activity via motion censors and surveillance cameras at night. This also helps the guard in accessing a situation, notifying authorities and coordinating his/her response to verified crime in progress

As an insurance expert - I can say that CPS is doing a very smart thing when it comes to Risk Management by having the guard stay in the trailer at nights. By keeping the guard in a trailer at night he/she does not have to constantly patrol a dark construction site where one can trip - fall and cause injury to him/her self or better yet get overpowered by intruders.

Umm - thats why CPS Security provided you with motion censors so that you know when there is an intrusion. I can assume that all 12 of the motion sensing alarms would be going off in your trailer by the time the perp gets to it to "SHOOT" you.

Being a security officer doesn't mean that you are a police officer. Your main job is to observe and report. Furthermore - www.ripoffreport.com is a way for consumers to get their voices heard - this is not a forum for upset ex-employees to get back at their ex-employers for letting them go.

Other than your one post - there are no other complaints or rip-off reports for CPS Security Solutions, Inc., and the company has been around for over 20 years!
