I saw their advertisement that they needed new employees. Took Monday 7/12, Tuesday 7/13, Wednesday 7/14 3 days of training from 9:00AM-3:00PM with NO PAY, then took 1 day Thursday 7/15/04 from 9:00AM-3:00PM for CPR/FirstAid.

Instructor Cheryl(Office Supervisor)stated, (This was said to us on Thursday 1/2 way through the CPR and First Aid American Red Cross certification class and tests.)"Oh, no, I'm sorry at the end of today you will not get your CPR and First Aid Cards, we keep the original cards that come to us from American Red Cross until after you've been working for us for 6 months, you will not get your cards until then." She stated this even though she is a registered American Red Cross CPR First Aid Trainer.

What kind of policy is this? There were no policies given to us at all regarding this information.

Cheryl did not tell me this when I came in for an interview the previous week. If she would have, I wouldn't have had to get daycare for my child for (4) 6 hour days = (24 hours)and come out with nothing at all.

Cheryl also told me at the time of the 1st interview which was on the previous Friday, in these words, "You will have 3 days of training for the job if you're hired, then on Thursday July 15, 2004, you will have CPR class and first aid class from 9:00AM to 3:00. Cheryl also said, and if you decide you want to stay with us, you'll come back for a 2nd interview. Cheryl did not tell me that if I wasn't hired that I would not receive my CPR and First Aid Cards of completion.

I expect to have my CPR certification card and First Aid card. I took several tests in the 4 days at Creative Networks and passed with only missing 1 question on the CPR test and 1 question on the First Aid test and have witnesses who were there that can back me up. I have my booklet which does prove I completed the classes. I am a CNA and I need these cards and I was looking forward to working for both companies.

On July 15, 2004 We did our CPR class first. This was comprised of each of the trainees reading, taking the test and testing on manually doing cpr on a dummy that was positioned on the floor. I am 260 pounds and had to bend down with no support of my elbows or hands and hold the dummy's chin so that it would stay open for the rescue breathing and the other hand on the dummy's forehead. I have never been so humiliated in my life. I was told to keep doing the compressions and the breathing and did approximately 20 to 30 cycles of 15 compressions to 2 breaths. This was ridiculous. I am a strong person, I have the knowledge, I have done CPR several times on people dying and I know how to save someone if they need help. I have a large stomach, this does not mean that I should be discriminated against for the job, nor made to keep repeating the steps over and over again and in excess of the others in the class.

This was very hard for me, but I did it to the point I was laying on the floor on my stomach and breathing into the dummy's mouth. No, that wasn't good enough, Cheryl and Michelle made me keep doing the CPR, until I was red and perspiring profusely and dizzy. I also believe that because Michelle knew that had some physical health problems, that was a tip right there that they didn't want to hire me. I was discriminated against and treated like a dog.

I want my CPR and First Aid cards and I want to know why they hired another trainee that wasn't in the training classes 1/2 of the time, because she told Cheryl she could work on Sundays and Cheryl was so excited because Cheryl didn't want to have to cover that job on Sunday.

There was favoritism, discrimination and humiliation. I also spoke casually about that I had cancer in the past and radiation treatments and for this, I believe they discriminated against me for health reasons and for their health insurance rates that would be effected.
