well there is alot to mention but ill keep this short as possible. i lost my job in november  on unemployment and could not maintain my 272.00 dollar a month payment to credit acceptance. my vehicle was repossessed as it should be. i had gotten a call from credit acceptance 3 months later asking if i would like to get the vehicle back. they would give me a deal on the charges and work out the difference in additional monthly payment amounts. my payment would go from 272.00 to 415.00 per month for 4 months. i would need to give them 500 dollars up front and they would spread out the additional repo fees out over a 4 month period in addition too my usual monthly payment. i agreed,  and the nightmare began. i talked to a member of there repo. dept. he told me that being that i am giving them 500 down and the next payment was due on the 22nd and it was the 15th, that they would extend my due date to the 12th of the following month or i could make the payment sooner if it was possible. he proceeded to transfer me to a csr that would have to log this info into there system so apparently there company would all be on the same page.

she told me i needed to promise to make the next payment and when i told her the repo dept rep told me i could have till the 12th  but could make it sooner, she asked can you make it sooner and i said i will try for the 1st but was unsure at that point if it would be possible. so she proceeded to ask the usual ambiguas questions and ended by saying if you for some reason cant make the payment by the first call us and let us know ,i agreed and the call was over. well the first came and i didnt have all the money but i did have the 272.00. i called creditacceptance and told the csr my situation and she  told me that i was in a binding contracted agreement and that i have to pay the full amount and all the fees by midnite that night or they were coming to repo the vehicle. i tried explaining the previous conversations and the verbal agreements that were made ,but it meant nothing. after about a half hour and alot of stress she told me i would only have to pay the 415.00 that nite, so i had to borrow the money and paid it. i used money gram and called them with the confirmation number and all was good ..so i thought.  about a week later around 1am i was awoke to a horrible screeching sound outside my window,i look out and there they are dragging my 5k pound suv on to a flat bed(no keys).

i just sat down in shock as they were gone in 2 mins..no calls..no knock at the door no warnings  nothing ,just came and took it. i called the next day and they said i am outstanding over a 1000.00 in fees. so yet again im explaining the situation with the agreement and so forth. after about 30-40 minutes of being bounced from dept. to dept.and tons more stress, they said they will release the vehicle but read me the riotact first and blamed it all on me. they also told me there is no grace period,if they dont get the payment on the 22nd of every month the agreement is void and they will repo immediately. since this time i have received tons of calls day and night,weekends you name it. they just keep saying i have an overdue balance and i keep saying you receive the payments on time and it includes the outstanding repo fees. they called me today which is saturday at 10:15 am harassing me about the fees and asking me personal questions and DEMANDING  to know the exact date and form of payment and if im back to work, i told them its none of there buisness and she actualy said it is there buisness.

i told her the payment is due on or before the 22nd ,well that wasnt good enough. she argued and insisted on this information so i just hung up the phone. i just dont understand why there so aggressively pursuing and harassing me over a current account. this situation has created so much turmoil and stress i jump whenever i hear a truck pull up or metal noises outside my apt..and im tired of looking over my shoulder never knowing when theyll strike again. and the calls are constant and everyday. ive developed a nervous twitch and cant sleep. i think letting them take it is the only course of action,for i cant afford an attorney to pursue them on my behalf. if anyone reads this long winded story..learn one thing....stay away from creditacceptance..ps i was laid off a year ago before this happened and they repoed it then too and it cost me 600.00 to get it back.grossly overcharged  sighned  completely stressed out.

they do call every day even though the aggreements are made.  they have no way of cross refferencing the calls from department to department.  they can be very trying, and very rude, like they are always doing you a favor.  see they know that sometimes they are the only game in town for tens of thousand of potential buyers. 

when i worked for a dealership, we used credit acceptance as a last step, if the customer did not qualify for others financing we went to credit acceptance because they couldnt buy a car otherwise.  no one will finance them.  but the customer is right , they do harass, past what they should, and they are extremely arrogant!
