I am a seller on ebay of high end electronics. Yesterday a man claiming to be from Germany emailed me asking if he could purchase several units from me and pay with an escrow service he trusts. I told him no for several reasons:

I do not do international business
He hasn't had any recent transactions with Ebay
He seemed determined to use escrow and suspicious

He gave me the link to the website he trusts and uses for escrow,trying to get me to sign up and use it too. I told him no.

I looked deeper into him, and discovered that he is registered with Ebay as a Canadian user even though he told me he was from Germany (possibly a highjacked account), looking at his email message headers, they conflicted with his email address. His email address is haffa283@yahoo.de, headers have a liberian prefix.

I looked at the escrow company website he was trying to push on me and in the contact info, it shows the Manager of the company. The managers name is the same name of the person trying to get me to use the escrow service. I WOULD have lost over $15,000 to this person as the escrow service he wanted to use was his own scam escrow service.

I want to warn others of him. The domain was purchased only last month.
