Hi. My name is Mirtha and I am an ex employee of STL Worldwide for Mikal Goodman.
I have my own opinion about this company. I had a great time working at STL. I flew in for the interview from Puerto Rico and I loved it!. Of course, like every job there are times that we dont like the "product" that we are selling or the environment that we are working in. YES, it is a door to door sales job and there is A LOT of walking. Yet again this is not a job for everyone. In the second interview you see what the job is about and if they offer you the position YOU CHOOSE IF YOU WANT IT!. I got the chance to go to TOP GUN in Dallas and fell in love with the company even more. Sadly I had to go back to Puerto Rico for personal reasons and they were very understanding and caring. It isa very hard job to do and that is why you get a good pay too. I cant speak bad of this experience because I really miss it plus, you get the chance to build your team and get your own office! Who wouldn't want that???

I would like to offer a sincere apology to the person that posted this report.  I am sorry for any misunderstanding or inconvienience that may have occurred while attempting to obtain a position or while working with my company.  In business for nearly 10 years, I have always upheld a high standard of professionalism, honesty and integrity with our many clients, suppliers, employees and associates.  Because this is an anonymous report I am unable to apologize in person.  However, I would like to attempt to clear the air.

You are correct, in fact we do recruit prospective candidates through Careerbuilder as well as othe recruiting sites.  Like any company in business for a profit, we strive to recruit the best candidates available, all the time.  Unfortunately due to the downturn in the economy, there are millions of great people out of work.  Fortuntely my company can and does provide an opportunity for a small number of people to obtain work and begin to pay their bills again.  Having started at the bottom myself, I realize that direct sales is very challenging and definately NOT for everyone.  For this exact reason we do a preliminary interview followed by a second interview as you stated.  The first of which is to "explain" what we do and the second is to "show" the prospective candidate either business to business sales or sales & marketing at corporate events.  Either way there is no obligation for either party nor is there any fee charged to get involved as with all "pyramid schemes" as you may believe.

Where you are mistaken is the FACT that my company absolutely performed sales, marketing, customer service and data capture for the 2008-09 Fan Appreciation ticket promotion for the Miami Heat and Florida Panthers.  The results were great and we are launching the same program for a second straight season with both teams for 2009-10.  As for the Florida Dolphins?  I think you mean Miami Dolphins...NO.  We do not work with any Pro football teams.  We never have nor have we made any such claims.

To address another issue about "running from state to state".  I opened and ran a successful company in New York City for 8 years and recently relocated back to Florida where I started my business nearly 10 years ago.  I made the choice not for business but rather personal reasons.  I didn't feel NY was the best place to raise my 3 daughters so we moved back to be closer to family.  Furthermore, I have no criminal history whatsoever so the term "crook" or "goon" could be considered slander or even defamation.  Probably why you chose to write this anonymously.

Anyway, I would like to apologize again that our company was not a good it for you.  The beautiful part of living in this country is the freedom of choice and of course...speech.  You can always choose your occupation and find a new job if you don't like the one you have.  If you don't like the one you had, you can always write a blog.  I do however wish you luck and success in whatever it is that you are looking for.
