I took my gently used baby items for consignor to sell. When I asked for a list of my items (a few months later) I noticed that some items were missing. When I confronted the Consignor, she said she put them in her "free" room because they had stains on them. The items were almost brand new, in excellent condition. Now that I have filed a complaint with the BBB, she claims that I never dropped the items off, claiming that I can't "prove" that I did drop them off. An admission of guilt in my opinion. The consignor never tried to contact me about these items being "unsellable". This women is rude & belligerent. She offered no apology or resolution. She is clearly a theif & I don't want other people to be ripped off by her!!

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
Totally False Claim
AUTHOR: Patty - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, December 28, 2010
Kara Thoreck brought her items to us for consignment on May 10, 2010. Her items were brought to us directly from her finished garage sale. She was informed at that time that we were not looking for "garage sale leftovers" but we agreed to take her items on consignment because she had a Fisher Price Jump-A-Roo and we were looking for one for a customer.
At that time, Ms. Thoreck wasprovided with acomplete set of Curtain Climbers Rules. Part of the rules required that she provide us with a complete inventory list of the items she was bringing in. Since she did not have a list of her items, we went through her items one by one while she was in the store and she was given back any items that were not consignable.
After reading the complete set of our rules, Ms. Thoreck was provided with a Consignment Contract which asked her to provide her name, address and email address. There was also a line in the contract that read : A complete set of Curtain Climbers rules was provided to me on __________ (Please initial and date). At that time, Ms. Thoreck made out the contract, initialedand dated the aforementionedlineand her items were put on consignment.
Months later in 2010 (by her own admission) Ms. Thoreck suddenly claimed that she was missing items on her consignment account even though she had already picked up several check for items sold on her account. The checks were dated 9/7/10, 10/19/10 and 12/9/10. Never during any of these check pick ups did she mention anything missing from her account. In December of 2010, Ms. Thoreck picked up her last check and was told that everything had sold on her account. She left and I did not hear from her again until I received a Better Business Bureau Complaint which I answered right away.
Ms. Thoreck was not satisfied with just filing a Better Business Complaint, she wrote me several threatening letters that she would dishonor our store's reputation and my personal reputation to anyone who would listen, including the local newspapers, the local TV stations, The Fair Trade Commission and anyone who would listen (including your website).
I wrote a letter to Ms. Thoreck and sent it regular mail and certified mail that said "Although you are certainly within your rights to disagree with any policy we may have, you do not have the right to slander my business or personal name without proof of wrong doing".
I then sent Ms. Thoreck's threatening letters to the Better Business Bureau and a copywas forwarded to my attorney for review. The Better Business Bureau has since found in my favor. The letters and complaint are part of the Better Business Bureau Record and are a matter of public record should anyonewant to check.
Ms. Thoreck is a seriously disturbed and delusional young woman in my opinion and has targeted my business and me personally without just cause.
My attorney is taking the appropriate measures which may include a restraining order and punative damages.
