In 2000, I purchased a Cybermax notebook for about $2000 for my parents who are senior citizens. I based my decision on pc worlds ratings. A few months after purchase the screen went completely blank and I then found out that my supposed 3 year warranty was worthless since Cybermax and its parent company Fountain Technologies went out of business.

I tried to find someone to work on the computer but to no avail. I found the name of one of their ex-employees...Anreas Horlacher who was supposedly working on notebooks but I've since lost all contact with him. I'd just like to either get my money back or find someone who will work on this pile of junk!

Re computer problem

Dear Scott. sounds like your frustrated
I know I've been there years ago.
have you checked the video? battery?
We work on computers alot and some
I'd need more information to trouble
shoot. but it is rather simple to do
and fix as there is not many components
that go in a pc. also did a diagnostics
program come with the computer if so
you might try running it to see if it
detects the problem.

I try to avoid systems that have everything
on board like a plauge as most of them end
up being a headache and when something goes
wrong you have to replace the whole mother
board or if the on board features are able
to be disabled you have to disable them
by switch settings then add your card
for the feature like a video card, sound
card, scsi adapter interface for a scsi
hard drive or other scsi device etc.

even so the mother boards with on board features
can cause compatibility problems if you want
to add something to the system and are
more of a problem then a mother board you
add everything to. Some co.'s use refurbished
and used parts and discount and cheap parts
and low volt under rated power supplies etc
and sell for cheap to the unwitting people.
I refuse to buy a system out of the stores
and would much rather build my own and this
way I get to pick the parts individually,
and know what goes into the system, and
can pick the best and most reliable and
stable parts.

And rather enjoy designing and building my own systems from scratch. I sold one system to a jewlery store owner who never had a problem with it and then went to buy a more up to date system in a store that crashed on him in a short time
and he's back to using the system I sold
him that we built.

We've been troubleshootng, repairing,
and designing and building systems for
over 17 years. but at first it was
aggrevating for us also until a ex-airforce
professional computer tech taught us then it
became easy and easier and is simple now.
also.

Do you get more than 1 beep when you turn
on the computer?
have you ran a virus scan?
