A telephone number appeared on our caller ID; I used internet yellow pages to trace it to D Sharma in Toronto, Ontario - a person I do not know.
When the call came through again and we answered, the same number showed on the caller ID, but a salesperson identifying themselves as William Porter gave a Delaware address and phone. He told my husband we were pre-qualified for a high limit gold credit card. He then proceeded to take my husband's personal information, including the name of our bank.
Near the end of the conversation, my husband told me about this "great credit card", and the only stipulation was we would have to pay $250 in insurance in order to get it. I smelled a scam and told my husband to hang up. He did, and this menace called 3 more times within the next two minutes, and refused to stop calling until I demanded to be removed from their list.
