Mercedes Garcia and the management are not managing problems the way they are supposed to. For example they send you notices saying that you need to pay water/gas bills or you will be evicted when you have already demonstrated to them that you don't owe anything. They don't pay any attention to where they leave any of the payment receipts or other important papers as such, most of being the cause that they spend their time during work talking on the phone or gossiping about personal problems and ignore the residents whenever they come in and they say they are going to do something about it but rarely do. Apart from that most fridays after hours they have a small party/reunion and drink it up, the person in charge (mercedes) is aware of this specially because she attends these little reunions. Not only this but some of the office staff do drugs or they have sexual encounters with the maintanence guy/s in apartments that are vacant. This is some of the reasons to why they are not handling the property as should be. The maintanence guy took 3 days to come and check my a/c and I have a little baby girl who is sick, my fridge wasn't working therefor I had to use the freezer. There are many thefts, and other crimes as such or worse that happen both during the day and night and they don't do anything about it or look into it. One of the crimes that happened a while back was of this guy was talking on the phone(payphone) during the night with his truck right there on the side. This location being right beside the main office too. Well some guy from New Orleans came out of his apartment, which was right in front of the phone, he was all f***ed up, and had a gun in his hand. Next thing you know he shoots the unaware guy on the phone and he just walked off like nothing happened. The guy who was shot was sent to the hospital and was in a comatose state for a couple of days. In the Berkshire Apartments all the units that face the fence that seperates Oxford and Berkshire are tagged with grafitti and gang relations. Many windows are or have been broken, some apartments instead of having windows put in or replaced are boarded up. The laundry rooms' fans don't work, and clothes are stolen form there on a regular basis. the manager in the Berkshires is maybe as worse or more. she knows that the maintenance guy does not do any work or knows any english at all but she keeps him here since that is her boyfriend. So if you are thinking into moving in any of these properties, think twice because they are a piece of sh*t. We have Tried contacting the main company but so far no luck, they just ignore our letters and complaints. Maybe all of this should go to the health department and/or HPD..........
