Dating in Charlotte , Great-Expectations, GE Charlotte Dating in Charlotte just a new name for the Great-Expectations, who has a bad rep charlotte, North Carolina

Last year I came across a local dating service while on the internet. I was interested in meeting real people and not spending endless hours chatting on the internet to God knows who on some online dating website. I sent an inquiry to the dating service and waited for them to call me back. It took less than an hour and I was impressed. That should have been my first warning that something was off!
They would not  give me any information over the phone because they are so exclusive. They invited me to meet with them in person. I didn't have the time. They hounded me for months. I finally made the decision to meet with them and see what this was about. They called themselves GE Charlotte.

Little did I know, but GE Charlotte was another name for Great-Expectations. Had I know this and had searched the internet for information about them, I would have found complaints that go on for miles....literally. Great-Expectations is all over the US and has over 200 complaints on this website alone.

So, anyway. I did not know any of this at the time. I meet with one of the ladies at the local office. She told me how there were hundreds of quality men available in my age range through their service (total crap). They do not allow you to look through their data base until you have completed the process of joining which includes completing a video shoot and photos with their photographer, an addition fee which is never mentioned. By this time it is too late to cancel your membership, which I might add is several thousand dollars. They told be that they do a background check on all of their prospective clients and that it is for our protection. I later found, that a background check was not done. It was merely a credit check and this was for THEIR benefit. I had never agreed to a credit check!!

After realizing that I was basically stuck with this "membership" I have meet a few men. One of the members that I meet was considered "inactive" or on a "freeze".  When I asked him about this he explained that he was no longer a member and that he was called by GE and given some free membership time because someone was interested in him. In other words, their database of available members is grossly exaggerated. Close to half of the people that you see in their database are no longer members. This also means that once I am no longer a member, my profile will not be removed. 

GE aka Great Expectations here in Charlotte, NC has recently changed their name to Dating in Charlotte. I believe that the reason for their new name and website is to recruit unsuspecting clients that wouldn't think to research GE/Great Expectations and be informed of what a rip off this place really is. Their new website advertises that there are 3-4 events a month. This is total crap. They also advertise .... " fantastic events, and stays through the entire event, to make sure
everyone has a good time! Anything and everything from Cocktail Parties, Festivals, Live Music events, Hiking, even Ski Trips, Cruises and our most looked forward to event  Speed Dating!" They have had 1 Speed Dating event in the last year and didn't have a very good turn out.  Ski Trips??? never happened.... Hiking?? Festivals?? nope..... And they forget to mention that the events that they do have cost EXTRA MONEY.

My advice, stay very far away from this place.
