Dave Houde Straight Line Siding And Remodeling - Superior Remodeling cheated, Lied, ripped us off, unfinished work, ripoff Joliet Illinois

On 4/17/07 we signed a contract with Dave Houde, Straight line siding, and remodeling.also known as superior Remodeling. The job was to replace my roof,sofit, facia, and gutters. 10,000 was the agreed upon price, and a down payment of 5,000 was requested.

On 4/22/07 another 2,000 was requested from the remaing 5,000. he needed to purchace the sofit, facia, and gutters as the roof would be finished on Monday 4/23/07, and he would be starting the sofit,facia, and gutters.

On 4/28/07 another 1,600, was requested from the remaining 3,000. He needed the money to pay his crew. The roof was 3/4's done at that point, and again the sofit, facia, and gutters would be installed on Monday 4/30/07. The materials were in his garage. He did not show up on Monday, he showed up on thursday, put the remaining shingles on the last quarter of the roof, but did not cap the garage roof.

On 5/5/07 he requested another 850, from the remaining 1,600, as his crew cut the sofit, and facia wrong, and he needed to replace it. But I should not worry as the money was coming out of his pocket not mine. And again the job would be completed on Monday 5/7.

And again he did not show up. The top of the house was open to animals, and bird's, as all the sofit facia, and gutters had been removed.

He never came back to finish the job. Numerous calls were made, and he kept promising to finish the job, but never did. Our last attemt to have the job completed by him was 5/21/07. He promised to come back and finish the job, but again he never showed up.

At that point we sent him a letter requesting the job be completed by 6/1/07, or a return of 3,450. As the job was not completed, and we needed to hire some one to finish the job.

On 5/30/07 he showed up at the house, knocked on the front door, and told my sister inlaw,he was going to get something to eat,a truck was on the way with the sofit,facia,and gutters,and he would be right back. His crew loaded up his ladders,and never finished the job.

We took him to small claims court on 6/18/07.He told the judge he owed us the money we sued him for, and he wanted to make arangements to pay us. He asked us for 2 weeks to come up with the 3,450, plus 223. court costs. A total of $3,673.00. We gave him the 2 weeks, and now he will not answer his calls or return our messages.
