This shop claims to be import "experts" so I thought that this would be a good place to take my VW. I thought wrong. I was having an electrical problem so took my car to the self proclaimed "expert", they told me that several hours of diagnoses was needed, and then told me that I need a new computer in my car. They insisted that this part was not covered by my warranty, and that my only option was to pay them thousands of dollars.
I called the dealership, and they told me that not only would the computer be covered under my warranty, that the chances of the computer being the problem were very slim, and that VW had issued a bulletin describing the problem I was having, and the fix.
I decided that I could no longer trust Dave's and I took my car to the dealership. After spending $500 on diagnoses for my car at Dave's, the dealership was able to identify the problem in 10 minutes and fix it within a couple of hours.
I think Dave's is very unprofessional and should not claim to be experts when they charge hundreds of dollars to identify a problem that VW already identified and provided repair instructions.
Dave's may have my $500, and there is nothing I can do about that, but I can assure you he will not get anymore of my money, and everyone I know will know about how I was scammed.
And on a side note: They got grease on my seat. I know that auto shops have grease, so getting grease on my seat is forgivable, but again I would think that with the prices they charge they could show a little more respect for the vehicles that they are working on (and yes, again, I thought wrong.)
Some businesses survive by building a strong reputation for honesty and quality work in the community, some survive by having flashy signs right off of I-15. You guess on Dave's.

I had a completely different experience. Not even sure we are talking about the same place. The owner was helpful, honest and a lot more affordable than a dealership. I actually went to the dealership first, and was quoted an outrageous price of $525 bucks just for the part (not including labor) and decided to try an independant shop and chose Dave's. They charged a lot LESS for labor and a lot LESS for the part - it was only $70 bucks. Bottom line here, my car runs great, I'm a happy customer and will ABSOLUTELY go to Dave's again.

There are reports spanning years online, show the same pattern of overcharging, dishonesty and arrogance. I am glad that ripoffreport will not let you remove negative information like many of the other sites that you have done so on. Karma is coming back on you Dave, and I hope it continues.

This report is not true. This is a former employee of our company, when we terminated him he swore that he would try and ruin our reputation with lies on the internet. People can lie on the internet and there is nothing a company or indivigual can do about it except file a rebutal.
