Resent booming Orange County housing markets have aloud scam artist such as this one, to set up shop, take orders, and like a well organized system, milk unsuspecting customers out of millions! A quick trip one day to the Orange County Recorders Office turned up some amazing and shocking info.

The owner David Blanchley has been in the blind business for a while under names such as "Quick Blinds", "Factory Direct Corporation", and now "Shutter Factory" and "Diamond Coat Technology". And apparently he is no stranger to the Courthouse. Research on the owner shows a continued pattern of lawsuits and unpaid tax problems, each one more than the previous. It's amazing how this has not caught the attention of the local authorities.

This is how the Scam works.. You find one of their ads in the local newspaper or Penny Saver for blinds and shutters at a remarkable low price (Factory Direct). A nice sales person comes out to your house to measure up your windows and tells you the whole blind/shutter project can be built by them and you install them how you see fit.

Usually a deposit is asked for up front to get the job started, no Credit Cards accepted. Months and months go by as you wait for your blinds/shutters, and usually your salesperson has quit by this time, so you loose your point of contact offering further confusion. Finally, after nearly 1 year sometimes, someone calls you from a so called installation department where they proceed to set up a date for your installation. What you don't realize is that the so called installation department is yet another front company for this blind manufacturer. Usually acting as some kind of independent contractor, the installation WILL NOT BEGIN until you have PAID IN FULL.

During the installation, which will never go on the day as planned, your installation will always be incomplete. Something will always be missing or broken in which your installer, who's only been there a short while, will collect the cash for the job, and promise to come back, but will eventually never be seen again.

The victims, once suckered into what looks like a great deal, are stuck with a poor quality product, in which they can never correct, or back out of. After the lawsuits start to pile up, the owner David Blanchley, closes all the bank accounts and proceeds to start a new "dummy corporation" and sets up shop to conveniently take all the former customer accounts and this cycle starts all over once again.

I too was ripped off by David Blanchley. Had order some custom "durashutter" from him and his so called "SameDay Shutter", "DuraShutter" and "1800.eblinds" in 2010 and got the WORSE PRODUCT you can imagine... they were made of poor quality and all were DEFECTIVE! Had to sue him in the court and even though I won, still can't collect because he moved the business elsewhere and that is why you can't find a physical address on the business anymore! He knows how to play the legal system and that is why there will be more VICTIMS!!!! STAY CLEAR AND DO YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE otherwise get ready to be ripped off!

The true pitcher here is very clear WHO ARE YOU! Tell me who you are a I'll fix you product !! Call me !!! BUT you are not a customer are you?
*****************************
This person is most likely an unscrupulous and hateful person that is mad at their installer or a competitor. They will not tell me who they are because there I "will" have a law suit in there hands soon! This STORY is made up it almost not worth responding to.

There are way too many LYES here to even address but I'll try.

I have not owned a company for the past 10 years or so. Anyone can look at the State, County and City web site records to see for themselves the information stated by the author does match the governments data bases. After checking said agencies all will see that the BBB has allowed a LYER to enter false information into there forum.

I have helped set up several factory direct dealers (a franchise type of company) in the window covering industry that sell direct to the public at great prices, however the customer must install them self or find one.
Installation is not included and the factories will not be provide the service.

Customers SAVE $100 to $300.00 per Window off Home Depot, 3 Day Blinds and most other stores.
They must install themselves "OR" they can call a handy man or they can use someone from a referral list clearly disclosed on there invoice.

The product carries a lifetime warrantee parts and labor. "carry in basis" installation not included.

Yes some dealers have gone out of business however all warrantee have and will be honored, "carry in basis" installation not included.

I had a company go under almost 10 years ago and have been trying to get back on my feet ever sense, I do not RIP people off and I have been paying my Taxs every year.
