Avoid This Auto Mechanic/Engine Rebuilder David Jeschonek in Glendale AZ ...avoid getting taken for a ride by this rip-off Jerk-Off!

Needing a replacement engine for my Toyota truck, I sought out a used or rebuilt motor in the classifieds of the AZ Republic. I responded to an ad placed by an individual who "specializes in rebuilding the Toyota 22RE and the Nissan equivalant Z24. With the exchange of my truck's old, tired engine core and $675.00 I'd receive a new-rebuilt replacement and a 12 month/ unlimited mileage warranty. After some price comparisons, I concluded that this was a fairly good deal. Besides, I had nothing to worry about because he had numerous references available should I want to do some checking prior to handing over my deposit. Perhaps I should have taken him up on this offer :)

So I drove from my SE Chandler home to 45th Ave. & Bell Rd. To deliver the $150.00 deposit and get the ball rolling. He assured me that he would have it ready for me within 3 days. During which time I needed to pull the engine out of my truck, remove a half-a-dozen or so parts that I'd need on the new engine, and get the balance together in cash, so that when he called, I'd be ready. 3 days came and went and no word. On the fourth day, I called to see if there was a problem. He informed me that he had had one all ready to go, but it failed the compression test due to a cracked block from his supplier. No problem, I'd just have to wait another 3 days, but after-all, it wasn't his fault, right? Another 3 days went by, and no phone call. Again on the fourth day I called, and got voice mail all day. The next day, he still hadn't contacted me, so I started dialing again. Late that day I got ahold of him, and he said he'd be finishing it up the following day and he'd call me. This went on for 18 days, during which he never once returned my phone calls. Every time I spoke with him I did the calling. Each time he would say that it was taking just a bit longer than usual, but would not give a reason why.

My patience was taxed to its limit. This morning I called him and told him tht I couldn't wait any longer and that I needed either an engine or my deposit back. He said that it would definitely be done today, and that he'd call me sometime around noon, to let me know. At 2:00 I started calling every 15 minutes, each time getting his voice mail. His appearance left me a bit skeptical from the start, and the mounting frustration caused me to believe this guy to be nothing more than dirtbag, but I had no proof, just assumptions - until I ran his name in a query in the court case database on the Maricopa County Superior Court web page. Then is when I got that sinking feeling and the ball in the back of my throat. This a*****e had 11 cases pending against him with 2 of them showing action just this morning. All of the cases were for either back rent or fraud of some sort.

So I'm back to square-one in the hunt for a replacement engine. I'm glad it was only $150.00 I lost. Some plaintiffs had complaints against him for $5,000.00 or more.
