This guy is NOT licensed by the state and is currently under investigation by both the Montgomery Co. Sheriff/DA and the Texas Dept. of Licensing & Regulation.

His scam is that he will purposely damage your heat/air system then tell you that you need a major component replaced.  He will then either replace the unit with a piece of equipment which is way to small for your system or he will not replace the unit at all.  He will coat the unit with sealant to try to disguise its appearance and in an attempt to cover serial number stickers/plates.

Every time he comes to your house he will sabotage something on the opposite season's system (if winter, will damage the A/c; if summer, will damage furnace) so that in several months when you first turn on the A/c or Furnace, it will not work properly and you will call him back so he can rip you off again.

He is also a convicted felon already. He scammed me and several of my neighbors for something like 15-20K total.  He has also been the subject of a Fox 26 Investigates TV report.  After the story was run, several other people stated on the message boards that he had run this scam on them also.

David Jackson now scamming the elderly

AUTHOR: Candy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 31, 2011

Recently discovered that Jackson is still scamming and working for a man named George Wickham.

The businesses he works under are Betterway Services which offer carpet & duct cleaning and Air Star A/C & Heating. Both owned by Wickham.

Jackson is supposed to have a Tech. license to do HVAC work, at last checking of the TX Dept of Lic & Reg. website, he is not licensed in anyway.

As recently as 3 months ago (Oct. 2010) Jackson answered a service call placed to Air Star. Jackson then scammed the caller, an 83 year old widow, out of several thousand dollars and scammed her 79 year old neighbor also.

He is still under criminal investigation. If you have any info conserning him or have also been a victim please email me
