Davis & Associates Unknown False Representation - Threatening Legal Action Pamona, California

I received my first of several calls from a very rude lady at Davis & Associates threatening legal action if I did not pay what I supposedly owed. 

I requested, politely, that she provide me information on just who it was I owed as well as how much it supposedly was.  She retorted that unless I provided my social security number to verify my identity she could not release that information.  I said I would be happy to verify my social security number that she had on file, but I was not going to volunteer that very private information.  At this point she became verbally abusive and said that I was going to be served papers to make me pay. I told her that was fine with me, that they were welcome to send me "papers" and I would deal with it.

These same kind of calls continued off an on for several weeks. Either I or my husband would receive the calls, at home, and never got any kind of resolution.  The Davis & Associates firm would waffle back and forth about what type of firm they were - one day ther were attornies, the next time they were a collection agency - but would never provide any information about who it was I supposedly owed a debt to.

Today, 22 Feb 2013, I received a phone call at work.  Upon returning the call I was bounced from the receptionist, Jack Benson, to supposedly the account agent, Dennis Miller.  When I began asking questions back, like, who are you, what exactly does your company do, what is your mailing or physical address - I was suddenly bounced to Ms. Robbins - who became verbally abusive again and threatened me with legal action because I was a "deadbeat". She was practically screaming at me over the telephone.

After letting my blood pressure go back to normal, I called back and tried to get a mailing address out of the receptionist to no avail.  I then verbally told him that I was issuing a cease and desist request. At this he became verbally beligerant.  I told him they were more than welcome to send me something in writing, and once/if I confirmed that I did indeed have a debt that was due, then I would move forward with remedying the situation - but that they were not allowed to call me at home or at work again.

My search has found that the phone number listed (through reverse phone look up) is somewhere in Pamona, California.  There is indeed a Davis and Associates law firm in California, but when I contacted them they have no idea who these people that I spoke with are - and seemed quite alarmed that someone was using harrasing tactics such as these and seemed associated with their firm.

I have not, nor will I ever provide personal information, such as my social security number to anyone. Especially when they are abusive and will not provide basic information to help me remedy the alleged situation.

I want them to stop harassing me - and the many others I'm sure they are harassing.
