I took my vehicle to Davis Generator to have my vehicle repaired. After making the requested repairs. I was contacted and informed that my vehicle was ready for pick up in addition to the service charges. I arrived and paid for the work performed on my vehicle. After I paid for the services, I was given the keys to my car and a receipt. I noticed that I was charged an additional $50 to pay for the repairs and have them hand me my keys which was displayed on my receipt as fee for "checking out". Who has ever heard of a check out fee. I want to advise others about this business, because I was ripped off an additional $50 for paying for the services and having them hand me my car keys. When I requested a refund Lisa Dotson refused to give me a refund of the $50. In addition to the "check out" charges I was also charged $17.55 for shop supplies. When asked what the shop supplies were Lisa Dotson replied that it consisted of the use of shop towels by the mechanic during the repair of my vehicle.

Beware of this business! This business tend to over charge for it's services. If you decide to do business with Davis Generator be prepared to possibly pay additional frivolous charges such as for checking out or shop supplies.

In the future, I will get a written estimate in addition to checking the reputation of the business. I will also go a step further and check the criminal history of the owner by going to http://ccc.nashville.gov/portal/page/portal/ccc/caseSearch/caseSearchPublic/caseSearchPublicForms/ and keying in the owners name to see if there are any criminal cases against them.

Never allow any work to be done to your car, especially in the area of town this is in, without a written estimate. Always sign it and have them sign it BEFORE any work is done. Have them write down any charges they will be charging including any labor and these so called misc charges. My repair shop has never charged me for these frivolous charges.

I would take your report back to them to let them know that a POOR complaint will hurt their business. I guess they do not rely on word of mouth because this is one way to destroy their business . I would think that in the economy that we are in they would be doing anything possible to retain business not run it off. The best way to show your unhappiness is to never return.
