Days Inn Poor Design & False Advertising

The following is a letter I wrote to Days Inn back in July, 2001 and have never heard back from them on this issue.We made reservations to stay in the Days Inn in Custer, SD because the directory said the hotel was new, had laundry facilities, and we were told that they allowed pets.When we arrived on June 12 we were informed that the hotel had only been opened for 4 weeks, the manager had decided pets were not allowed but they made an exception because we had made prior reservations. The laundry facilities were not operable so we had to find a laundromat in Custer. When we went to our room we found the bathroom to be designed in a manner that could be very dangerous. The coffee pot and electrical outlets were located on a counter behind the commode so that when you used them the wires fell into the commode. Who would want to make coffee next to a commode? The door to the bathroom barely missed hitting the commode and when you were sitting on the commode your arm hit the toilet paper holder. Also, the sink was so close to the bath tub that if someone slipped they would hurt themselves on the corner of the sink. When we checked out we were given only one day at the quoted price of our 2 day stay.The only good thing I can say about this hotel was the Manger named Steve who was very helpful when he was on duty.I have enclosed pictures we took to show you the conditions of the bathroom.
