Dealdash.com is a penny auction site I joined in October 2012. At first I thought the website was great and seemed to be very fair, they set win limits, you could buy the item at retail and get your bid back. Things were going well, I won a few small items and got them within a week. Then in November things changed, shipping was taking longer and I suddenly found it much harder to win. So I started really paying attention to the bidding, there were instances when the timer would say 20 seconds and a I would think I won since I was the last bidder down to 0, only to have another bid come in 5 seconds later, which wasn't just due to my internet connection (the times are logged). Also their 'no jumper' policy is dishonest, they say no one can enter after $5 or $3, and I watched how many bidders there were up to that point (ex. 50) only to come back to the auction later to find 75 bidders. I actually have screen shots of this. I stopped bidding after I used up all my bids and figured I'd cut my loses, however, I still hadn't received some of my items and noticed the shipping estimate dates kept changing, and a few became out of stock. They offered replacement options, both less value then actual item won. I opted for the giftcard options. I still have yet to receive them along with a couple items they have as being shipped. I have now emailed (which is the only way to communicate with them) 5 times and have not gotten any responses, I won these items in the last week of October or first week of November, some were suppose to be Christmas gifts. Shame on them for doing this, especially during this time of year. Stay away from this site unless you want to throw your money away.

I'm sorry for these difficulties in getting your items. DealDash has over 1.5 million customers in the US and ships thousands of products each day, and we're fully committed to making sure all outstanding orders are fulfilled and all customers are given fast and friendly service.

I am happy to hear that you've received all of your items, and your assessment of DealDash's recent growth is more or less accurate. We've increased our staff and resources exponentially over the past few months to keep up with this growing demand, and we have not only restored our previous level of service, but we've also successfully optimized our shipping procedures and prepared various other improvements that are being rolled out.

In regards to collusion and other illicit bidding activities, this is something we actively monitor our auctions for, and take immediate action against any user suspected of violating our rules and regulations. If you ever notice anything that you feel is suspicious and inappropriate, please let our customer support personnel know so that we can investigate.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have finally received all my items from dealdash, it only took almost 2 months. I couldn't in good conscience keep saying they ripped me off when I got my stuff. However, during this time I have looked up what others have been saying about dealdash, and I think they just grew way too fast and couldn't keep up. Now their website is overrun by dishonest bidders, there is definitely collusion going on. I think they actually have way too many bidders and can't keep up with demand, that along with a lot of people getting pissed in the last 2 months have cost them lots of loyal honest bidders. The prices are now just way too high for a penny auction (most final values are 50% of retail, how is that even a deal when you factor in the cost of bids), part of that is all the bids they had to give out for out of stock items and the other is due to them having discounted bids all the time. I hope they get everything sorted out, as I said in my original report, when I first joined I really liked their service and really hope they get a handle on things before they allow themselves to get ruined. My advice to dealdash, get rid of the dishonest bidders (double whammy: the bidders colluding get the product for cheap, you lose loyal honest bidders and continue to get a bad reputation because people think you have bots), quit having bid sales (if prices are too high, you'll keep losing customers), and get a handle on your shipping no one wants to sit around not knowing if they're going to get the product or not (and since giftcards seemed to be the slowest to ship, maybe start offering egift certificates, you don't have to worry about shipping and you have proof of sending it to customers).
