I was doing some searching online at walmart.com looking for a new stereo for my ford explorer. At the bottom of the page there were some featured listings for Kenwood systems.I went through a few of these and ended up on dealer cost car audio.com where I decided to purchase several items. On May 8th,2010 I ordered a new Kenwood in-dash unit with cd player,2 sets of door speakers, and a powered subwoofer for the rear. The total came to $595.97 with free shipping for orders over $99. The listing said 95 percent of all orders shipped within 24 to 48 hours. 8 days later on the 17th I still had not recieved my shipping details email so I sent an email to the company asking if there was some kind of delay. They said there was a warehouse delay, and that's all.I sent another email asking if there was a estimated date for delivery, the reply said 1 to 2 business days.On the 24th I still had not recieved any shipping details so I tried to call the company only to be answered by a machine and put on hold for very long periods of time until I gave up.I sent ANOTHER email requesting cancellation and a refund of my money.I recieved a reply on the 24th saying that my system would be shipped early to mid week,if that was ok.I replied I would wait a few more days,I really wanted the system.By the afternoon of Friday the 28th I still had not recieved any shipping information, tried to call the company again only to be put on eternal hold again.I sent yet another email, telling them I'm tired of being blown off,and I wanted to cancel my order and requested a refund.Within 2 minutes I got a reply updating my order status to cancelled. They can answer emails in a matter of 2 minutes but cannot answer the d**n phone. They still owe me a refund on my debit card for $595.97!  They said in the email they credited it back to my card immediately, but it is still not on back my card.Since I was sending this to my business, an automotive repair shop I can call the attorney generals office and file a complaint. And I will if my refund does not appear soon. These guys or guy is a thief and a scammer!~ Don't trust them. You will get no merchandise,no explaination,no customer service,NOTHING! Then you will be left hanging some more to get your refund, IF you ever get it!!   I'll keep you updated on the refund status!

..when purchasing any high risk items such as car stereo stuff online. The problem with the internet, is that anyone can make a professional looking website with great products and pricing, and for all you know it is some little scammer working out  of his moms basement who has no actual inventory, and is good at copy and paste. A website is nothing but a virtual illusion.

Since I am in the auto electronics business, I know for a fact many of the lines on this site are not allowed to be sold this way..you must be an authorized dealer and can not sell to the public below a certain price point. I am very surprised the site is not shut down yet. I also notice there are Viper alarms on the site, those can only be sold by professional installers or they can pull the line. But if they are not authorized to sell it in the first place, there is no fear of the line being pulled..so they get away with it until shut down.

It is always a good idea to use the internet as a tool to prevent being ripped off on the internet.

For example, I entered this company's name in a google search, and 3 or 4 down, I found 103 reviews on the company from trustlink.org.

They have a two star rating. One star is the lowest. There is review after review of long drawn out complaints identical to yours. Almost everyone left one star. The only reason their overall rating is 2 stars, is I believe a couple of fake 5 star ratings jacked it up..if you read the reviews, it seems the smart thing would be to avoid this company..or whatever it is. It doesn't seem logical that so many would give one star and complain, and a couple give 5 stars. There are also various reports warning not to use this site, and the BBB gives them an "F" rating, the lowest possible.
