i am not angry.. but i just wanted to tell about my experience of buying a puppy from debbie... i had contacted debbie and told her what colr and sex i was looking for she had told me she had a litter coming up and she would let me know when it was born .. which she did and said she had posted pictures

i seen him on the interenet fell in love with him right away.. debbie called him jo jo as a nickname i named him harley jo. i sent a 500.00my husband and i drove to las vegas to get him i took my female that i had bought in florida with us from the travel she got a matt is her ear and i was so worried that debbie would think i didnt take care of her so i made sure it was out before we went to her house ... i shouldnt have been so worried her dogs werent the cleaniest but with that many dogs it is hard to make everyone look show quality all the time.we stayed at debbies house and they showed us the town we had a good time. i brought back another couples puppy when we left with our boy. when i got him home i took him to the vet the very next day like debbie asked me to do i found that he had swimmers legs and a  upper respiatory infection. the female i brought back also had swimmers legs that is caused from being in a cage but it would be hard to let that many puppies run freeley around the house all the time so i understood that his infection my vet said could have been caused from the drive home differnet climates.  

harley jo was sold to me at 1500.00 and was suppose to be 3 lbs full grown he topped out at 8 he had many health problems by the time he was 2. i had kept debbie informed and she said she would switch me puppies but after you fall in love how do you just walk away from what i had so i toold her no. harley had a bad liver that was found at 2 that was something no one would of known when he was little he needed a 5000.00 operation and no promises he would make it through surgery so we chose the medication, he had a heart murmer and seizures congestive heart failure and couldnt feel pain so he had to watched very close. he was a great dog the vet said he probably wouldnt make it to see 3. i fought long and hard to keep him going he just passed away jan 17,2014 he was 12 years old he wouldof been 13 in april.

debbie treated me well ..but i read the part about the papers and i had to have debbie send me the litter application and i sent it in and got all the puppies in the litter registered so i could get my dogs papers that is my only complaint i guess.... i so miss my little handicapp puppy it was a long hard battle but i believe that harley had the best life i could give him if i had to do it all over i would for sure.. my advice to debbie is downsize a little. when i was there you had 30 shih tzus 2 people cant givethe quality of care and love that the dogs need then it wont be so overwhelming to take care of all the paper work that goes along with it i know this because i had 6 until january and it was hard to split up the love but somehow i managed everyone had a spot in bed and on my lap at all times ....god bless all of you life is more important then money anyday i wish i had harley jo back everyday

Everyone who bought a puppy from "HOME RAISED DOGS" When their are over 100 dogs on their property and also I have noted the same dogs of certain breed being passed from across the united states to breed and breed for greed..I am writing the HSUS and see what we as persons against website breeders,commercial breeders etc. I will volunteer my time to stop puppymillers if you would like to join in either financial or like me volunteer contact these wonderful persons who love animals.and dislike puppymillers. Somewhere along the road of life, we all do something very stupid that costs us dearly.
This is called paying; THE STUPID TAX
How stupid is it to go blindly into an internet purchase? Hmmm? For those who have done their homework, they would know there is NO such "Breed" as "Imperial Shih Tzu". There are some Shih Tzu's that are small, just as some humans are small. Two small Shih Tzu's are no more guaranteed to produce small offspring than two small humans are guaranteed to produce a small individual. Why? Because they probably have a large relative (gene) somewhere in the bloodline that emerges.
The price of $2,500. is OUTRAGEOUS for a Shih Tzu, especially since there IS NO GUARANTEE that it will remain small. Even if they are born small, some can "catch up" like human premies do.
Save yourself some money...Go to Petfinder.com and do a local search for breeders in your region, where you can visit the breeder. Educate yourself and know what to look for in a breeder! Know the AKC accepted standards for the breed. Go to the library, buy some books, know what you are doing for the puppy's sake!
I recently adopted a sweet little 2-yr old Shih Tzu (9-lbs) came from a kill shelter for $150. She is the sweetest baby I've ever seen. Why not RESCUE A SHIH TZU from a shelter? At least you know what you have; size, temperament, and health.
ANOTHER THING....
Some breeders are mating two so-called purebreds such as a Pug and a Beagle and calling it a Puggle. They attempt to sell these for the same price as purebreds!!! These mixed breeds are not recognized by the AKC. No matter the mix, a mixed breed is a mixed breed. If you paid a large sum for these, then you have been a sucker. These breeders mix the two breeds to hide the substandards of their purebreds.
AVOID THE STUPID TAX;
NEVER, EVER BUY from a breeder that you can't visit the facility or one who SHIPS your puppy. NEVER, EVER buy from a pet store as they are supplied by puppy mills.

As a long-standing breeder of more than one breed, all I can say is "buyer beware!" Puppies are one of the easiest commodities to breed and throw around. We have never bred a b***h every season, as it's bad for the b***h, and we have never bred too old or too young - by the rules. We also only breed those dogs who have an AKC standard, which is developed with the input of clubs, breeders, and the AKC to ensure the health and standard of each breed. Otherwise, you don't know WHAT you're getting!

Another rule; the papers go with the puppy. That's according to the AKC. If the papers don't go when the puppy goes, at the same time the puppy goes, then the "breeder" has violated the AKC's own rules.

Last rule; the AKC, like everyone else, is out to make money. They're a registry. There've been dozens of reports of abuse or fraud or whatever else the AKC has gone to "investigate" which are "resolved" by the AKC simply not being able to find the address. They're not a government agency, they try to regulate but have no "teeth," and in the end rely completely on the word of the breeder that what they say is really what they've bred.

As a breeder, I'll say two things; one, never ever ever no matter what no matter who no matter why buy from a pet store. Two; unless you're into dog shows and plan to show and breed, go to your local animal shelter if you just want a dog, and rescue some poor soul who's already gotten his or her shots and been spayed or neutered. Those mutts are often the very best pets!

I researched many breeders and after numerous phone calls and e-mail messages, I CHOSE to buy my Shih Tzu from Debbie.

I saw her home, saw her dogs, the litter was registered with AKC, as is my dog. The dogs were well taken care of, my dog is perfectly healthy.

And I'm seriously contemplating buying another pup from Debbie Jensen...with no reservations about it.

This is just so sad that Debbie has to do this to people. Everyone who has ever been ripped off or had trouble with Debbie should get together and shut her down. When she moves to another state and starts all over,(Which she will) you should contact the ASPCA and better business bureau in that state and shut her down there. I am a breeder of Shih Tzus and have had many people personally tell me stories of how Debbie has sold them a tiny dog only to have it get to be much larger than promised and how once she gets her money she either won't send the dog or takes forever to send it. People like her should not be bringing innocent lives into this world just to be mistreated. If you the puppy buyer would shut breeders down that are like this then maybe we could eliminate the breeders that mistreat dogs only for money. I feel so bad for all of you and would like to send my sympathy.

Since Ms. Jensen refuses to send me papers, that I highly doubt she ever had, I will have to enlist legal measures to collect what was promised.

If only I had seen this site before sending a deposit, I might have avoided all of this mess.

Ms. Jensen seems to also forget that I did choose the smaller puppy. After seeing both puppies in person at her home, I switched to the smaller one. Both puppies are large.

My husband was also well aware of the price of the puppy when final payment was made. He would have been smarter than I was and not been involved at all.

When my puppy was purchased from Debbie, she hadn't registered the litter with AKC. She didn't think I was interested in breeding the dog, and thought the papers were not important.
Papers are very important to me, and Debbie promised to send in the form. It has been six weeks now and she is not answering my emails regarding the papers.

My puppy is very sweet. However, she is not the tiny thing I was let to believe I would receive. At 10 weeks old, she weighs about three pounds.

Now I have an unregistered dog that isn't tiny, but we still love her.

I can't say I feel the same way about the breeder.

She told me that she gets $2000 for a dog, and after I sent her a deposit the price was $2500. I was stupid enough to agree to this with no guarantees that the puppy will be small. She did offer me a puppy from another litter if I'm not satisfied, but it is unknown what that price will be.

I have been corresponding with Ms. Jensen regarding the purchase of a puppy. So far, she has been most pleasant and fast with email response.

A trip has been planned to visit the puppy litter during April, when I will choose my new little girl.

Since I already own a "teacup" shih tzu, I'm hooked on these tiny creatures. They have the body of a teacup dog, with the personality of a pedigreed shih tzu.

I am not sure if she is the person that origionaly filed this report because if she did she would go on to say that I tried to get her a new puppy. I sent her money to buy a plane ticket and come be a guest of my home to collect a new puppy. She cancelled the last minute saying it was a trick

I feel so badly for this woman I had a very similar experience as she did. FYI -- There is no such breed as the 'Imperial' ... as many pure breeds are, shih tzu are predisposed to certain hereditary abnormalities. One of those abnormalities is dwarfism which is what these 'breeders' are actually calling 'Imperial' and are breeding for. The breed standard weight for shih tzu is 9 - 16 lbs. If one is truly interested in the shih tzu breed they should acquire a referral from a legitimate source such as the AKC. Shih Tzu are famous for their delightful dispositions, not their tiny size. If size is what you're interested in there are smaller toy breeds whose normal, i.e. healthy, weight is actually under 9 lbs.

I wanted to thank Cheryl for going to the lenghts that she has gone to and reporting Debbie Jensen. I was so close to buying a puppy from her and found this website. I cant thank you enough for warning others and saving us alot of money and heart ache. I hope justice prevails and you get every nickle back.

I was amazed and thrilled that someone has finally been able to bring this crook to the attention of many on the internet. I have known miss Jensen for many years and have listened to her boast about scamming people and how stupid the general puppy buying public is..

While living in a one bedroom house in downtown Detroit, this woman was known to have dead puppies about, and dog fesces piled in her bathtub.Her animals were confiscated at one point, but she managed to reclaim a few just to have them die of parvo.. It was at this point she left Detroit for Las Vegas after selling her remaining 8 to 10 year old "Breeders" or her kids as she prefers to call them, for ridiculous amounts of money!! Promising all that they too could make a fortune selling puppies with her bloodlines.

My advise to anyone reading this information is to check references, and pedigrees if possible when looking for a shih tzu puppy. Debbie Jensen has stocked lots of puppy mills, with unhealthy, poor quality and most often falsly registered Shih Tzu..This woman should be behind bars!

This is why you should get references from your breeder before you buy a puppy. Look into their breeding history. If someone would have done this with her they would have found out she had been shut down more than once in Michigan and that is why she is now in Nevada.

I simply let it slide, everyone should report her who has had a problem with her. She is a very sick girl and should not be in business everything should be done that can be done to put her out of business, and to get her website shut down until that happens there will always be people ripped off and mistreated by Debbie Jensen!!!
