Debt Elimination Services, Scott Wilson ripoff Guilford Connecticut

Scott Wilson of Debt Elimination Services told us that he could help us get out of our credit card debt. We were told that we could not file for bankruptcy, so we decided to go with Debt Elimination and their promises of gettting us out of debt.

Scott said and it is written on his website, that 100% of his customers have never paid a penney back for their debt. We negotiated $4,000 for debt elimination to help us with our credit problems.

We gave $1000 down (borrowed), and then $250 per month until the $4000 was paid. The $250 per month was taken directly from my wife's pay. Nothing happened from February to September, then we started getting creditor calls, and this is supposed to be where debt elimination comes to the rescue.

We paid $2750 to date and received "zero" help from debt elimination, also Scott said to me on the phone that he needed to cover his a** by sending out a letter stating the new changes in bankruptcy laws becoming effective on Oct. 17th 2005.

He also stated that people were being sued more often, and houses, etc. were getting leins put on them. This is not what Scott told us when we started with him.

He told us that it was impossible to have property attached because it was unsecured debt, then changed his story in September. This is not what we signed up for, and we did not get anything from debt elimination before we stopped paying them.

We feel cheated and completely misled, and the rules changed from when we siged up to when we figured out that we were getting taken advantage of. I offered Scott $750 (for doing nothing) if he would refund us the rest $2000. He said no. We will be suing him at the end of October for false and misleading information given by Scott Wilson.

We also spoke to a Bankruptcy lawyer and Connecticut Trustee about Debt Elimination, and he told us that some of his own clients were taken advantage of by Debt Elimination. That is our complaint, and we do not want to see others getting taken advantage of.
