I was enrolled in Debt Settlement America for almost a year. I turned over 6 credit cards, two of my cards were from Discover and Bank of America. Before I enrolled in DSA I was making all credit card payments on time, they basically told me that there is no reason to enroll into DSA if I am making payments. They told me I had to quit making payments in order to get settlements. Discover card ended up getting a judgement against me for the full amount owed plus legal fees and late fees. When I notified DSA about the impending judgement I was told that Discover card and Band of America were the two of the worst companies to settle debts with. That would have been good information to have before I enrolled in this company. DSA basically hung me out to dry with the whole Discover card issue. After a year of making the payments to DSA for the fees I cancelled their service. I am out over $3500.00 with nothing to show but a nice judgement and 5 other charge offs. Thanks guys. I have filed a written complaint with the Dallas BBB so I will see what happens next.

You need to file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General. There are no real consequences when filing a complaint with the BBB. You aren't the only one in this situation. Many major banks will not deal with them; Citi, GE Money, Bank of America, and HSBC. Our bank immediately sends the account to legal once the power of attorney and cease & desist is received from one of these companies.
