I could write a book on this, but in a nutshell, I purchased a Dell, customer service was great until they got confirmation of funds available. After that, CSR's were being blatently rude, hanging up on me, referring me to non-existant Managers, etc. shipment was promised to go out on 21st of april 2005, got email 20th, delayed shipment till 27th. could NOT get a straight answer from anyone as to why it was delayed. CSR's i managed to get ahold of, could not speak english well enough to understand, or would just use "HOLD" and then disconnect me.

Couple of the sales reps, when they found out i was not buying, and needed a Customer care Rep, sighed outloud, hung up on me, and "Whatever" was another phrase i heard. was promised a credit, havent seen it, was promised Next Business Day shipping, didn't happen, so was told to refuse shipment when it came, NOW i'm WAITING for Refund. No PC, No money i had to take a loan out to get in the first place. Luckily my old laptop hasn't gone belly up.

this is just a minor overview, when i submitted my complaint to Better business bureau, the report was approximately 5-7 pages single spaced, with names, badge numbers, times and dates, etc.

Why would anyone buy a Dell?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 07, 2005

The products suck, the service sucks, the interest rates they charge you suck and I have yet to see ANYONE who got 0% financing. They've outsourced thier tech department to India.

For the same money, you could buy the parts on line and build your own or have a friend build it for you. It's really not that difficult.

Michael Dell had a great idea, but it grew up too fast and too big...

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Forget the better business bureau. Instead, use your bank to reverse the charge.

Anyone who comes here and reads even a small fraction of the dell complaints knows that something is wrong.

Many of the customers report the exact same thing as you. Some of them go on to say that the computer they did receive barely made it past the 90 day warranty before conking out for good.

It's easy to see that this company is selling junk.

A $500 laptop that lasts 100 days is NO bargain. Especially if you lose important stored information.

My suggestion is to avoid dell at all costs. Their computers. Their televisions. All the junk they are selling. Avoid it all, or you'll be sorry.

Since you made the purchase over the phone, you had to use a bank account or credit number. Go to your bank. Reverse the charge.

Then, don't ever get involved with dell ever again.
