I started a new business and needed to get a website built quickly. I called a number of companies and ended up with Designvation. They claimed they could get everything done in 2 weeks or less and be able to start accepting money when complete. All I had to do was pay extra from the standard costs. I thought it was worth it because I had customers waiting to enroll.

I am not a technical person and my site could be very basic so I thought this was a good idea. I didnt know all of the questions to ask regarding maintainence of the site and how things would work after it was completed. They speak in very broad terms except when it gets to what they are willing to do after the site is built. They do not put enough of the information in writing and the broad based language is used to their advantage when you ask for changes.

In the beginning there was a lot of communication but they didnt seem to get what I was saying. Now I do not care where they are based or what their nationality is but I would like to know the time difference and hours of operation. They claim to be in Texas but I could never get them on the phone or email until after 12 est. There was also a big "language barrier" when I spoke with them. They didnt understand simple terms and because I was building a business around american football they were terribly confused. Their names are also not their real names, which is a cause for concern, despite what they tell you.

My site was built a week later then what they promised and there was No apology or refund of the extra money paid. When they went to put up my site I realized they used stock photos of professional teams. I informed them I had zero interest in being sued by the NFL and I would send different photo's to use. It was eye opening that they didnt know that those photos' couldent be used? Shortly after launch I was unable to get any response from them on the phone. In fact you can only get a response when you are calling the sales people. They have no legit phone system nor answering system so you cannot leave a message.

Now I had several issues with the site in the first 45-60 days. When I raised some issues they gave me answers that were so absure I couldnt believe they believed it. I noticed my emails were bouncing back from almost every client. They told me it was the other email providers fault. When I said the site was going down they told me there was no problem on their end it must be your connection. Nothing is their fault.

My site was "hacked" and they said I needed to speak with my website manager to find the reason. I didnt have one at the time but they offered to take that responsibility on for more money. I declined and spoke to someone local to me. I was instructed to get my site emailed and my guy would run a virus scan. When I made the request I was asked 5 times "why do you want that are you leaving us"? I told them no I will be with them for the year that I paid for. They refused to give me that information. They said I really didnt need it. They will take care of it for a small fee. I declined and a week later my site was erased. They claimed it was my fault not just for the hacking of my site but of several others that were on the same servers. So they wanted me to pay more money and because my site was down I was not able to make money and it scared my clients.

So now they are refusing to give me access to my site. They do not return emails and forget about calling them. I have paid 3 times what I agreed to as they hold your site hostage. They charge me for simple updates that I could do myself if I had the password for my site which they refuse to give me. Their 100% guarantee is 100% Bull sh*t. They do not care about the customer. And if you do not keep buying more services your site miracleously runs into problems. Stay away from these guys.
