We had a funny feeling June6.2008 when Destination Movers finally showed up. They arrived in an unmarked truck with 2 guys who did not speak English very well. They started to load up the 17 boxes onto their truck. They loaded our stuff up against someone elses stuff. We had already packed everything. We were told that the furniture would be wrapped in blankets.

We walked back out to check on them and saw one of the guys taking apart a wooden coffee table, detaching the legs and putting them into what they called a wardrobe box. They used 3 wardrobe boxes to put 2 end tables and a coffee table in and then asked for packing material! I gave them some blankets, sheets and clothes. We had 17 medium boxes 1 coffee table 2 end tables a couch and loveseat and a full size bed. They wrapped the couch and loveseat in plastic wrap. I mentioned I'd never seen it done that way. The guy said "this is the way we do it".

My husband had set this up from Norfolk,Virginia. We were just married 1 week before and I was moving from Florida to Norfolk to be with him. Everything we own including wedding gifts were in that truck.

I knew we were in trouble when one of the guys started saying we needed to pay cash or check. I told him my husband had already paid online with his credit card. He said, Well the credit card machine was down. I told him well charge it when your machine is fixed! We were not paying again. Then He wanted me to sign the paperwork and instead of the 820.00 we were quoted it was 600.00 more for the 3 wardrobe boxes and packing material which my mom supplied. BIG RIPOFF!

My mom was in the other room vacuuming and so they started pressuring me for money for a tip. I felt threatenend and locked myself in my parents bedroom while I was on the phone talking with my husband. Eventually my mom wondered what was going on and came into the room. I gave them all the money I had which was approximately 40.00 and they finally were satisfied enough to leave.

On Friday it will be 1 month since I have seen our belongings. My husband is in the navy and had nothing. Everything we have including our wedding gifts are on Destination Movers truck. We have our 1st apartment with absolutely nothing inside it. We have slept on the floor since this all happenend.

Everytime we call them we get put on hold up to 20min at a time and told they are not sure when we will get our stuff. They originally had charged our credit card 1200.00 but now the charge has been credited back to our account. We need our stuff!

These criminals need to be stopped. They are stealing from innocent people. This has been a nightmare. We really need our belongings and don't have the money to run right out and buy new. We want our stuff back!
