Dewey Medical Lodge, Dewey Medical Lodge/ Gross Negligence toward patients--BE WARNED and AWARE Dewey Oklahoma

The Medical Lodge of Dewey, Oklahoma is employed with ill-prepared nurses that are not trained to fully help patients. I recently lost my grandmother, 48 hours after she was rushed AWAY from the Medical Lodge by an ambulance. The nurses at the Lodge left her on a one-hour oxygen bottle and tucked her in for bed. She is an emphezema patient and relies on oxygen full-time. After several hours, she was not checked on by nurses. Family arrived to visit, finding her not breathing and unresponsive. 911 was called (despite the nurses pleading us to let them handle it...) and she was rushed to Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville, where she was stabilized after five long hours of work.

During the time waiting for the ambulance, FIVE nurses decided to take a smoke break (aka get their story straight to save themselves) out back behind the building, leaving phones ringing, patients unattended, and visitors waiting in the halls. Other patients began roaming the halls to see the commotion, with no supervision by any staff members.

Please consider this a warning. If you have a loved one that is in this facility, GET THEM OUT and move them to Bartlesville or anywhere else. The nurses, while friendly, are incapable of treating patients properly and not knowledgeable about simple readings such as oxygen bottle levels. The equipment in the facility was not prepared for my grandmother's demands, and eventually this led to her traumatic experience and soon thereafter the loss of her life.
