I was contacted by a company, Diamond Getaways, to sell our Blue Green timeshare.  Their pitch was that they already had a company ready to purchase our timeshare for $14,000.  We explained that we had spoke with other people about selling and we did not have the $1000 needed to get the sale going, they told us originally there was no fee unless the deal went through.  When we questioned why someone would want to buy a timeshare for $14,000 that only cost us $9,600, their answer was that it was a corporate company that wanted to use it for company meetings and Blue Green only sells to the public not big companies.  In the end we ended up writing a check for $420 that was only to be cashed when the sale was complete (per the contract that was signed).  All papers were to be signed and the sale completed by 10/31/09.  On November 1st we tried to call to see what was going on and all numbers were disconnected and the website was gone.  Of coarse the check was cashed.

I went to my bank to see what we could do about it and they were unable to help, it was not considered fraud because we wrote the check to them.  On the back of my cashed check was their bank, Bank of America, and account number.  When I contacted their bank, again there was nothing that could be done because we wrote the check, the only information given was that the account was still active but none of the names we were given, Clay Adams and Bob French, were on the account.  We also contacted the Better Business Bureau which said there was nothing we could do because they were out of business and there was no way to contact them.

The funny thing is, after doing research on the internet, THEY ARE SILL IN BUSINESS!!!!!!!  I'm sure they are operating under a different name but they are still out there scamming innocent people like us.
