Dickerson Law Firm Took months and kept all my payments ripoff Little Rock Arkansas

Dickerson Law Firm seemed like a god-send, from the Television commercials we had seen. I had lost my job and attempted to keep up for many months, but decided to get some information on Bankruptcy (not file) as we were only 3 months behind at the time.

The young attorney we were given, took about 15 minutes to write down our financial information and stated he would call us later that day. Two days later, we called them back and were told we should file immediately and for a fee of $800.00 they could handle it THAT day, "which would save our house and car and erase all our credit card debt". He said Chapter 13 was the way to go. (???)

We asked several times what the fee schedule would be, but were always told "isn't it more important to save your home and car?" That was in May 2000.

We assumed they knew what they were doing and were told to start making $825.00 monthly payments to the Law Firm and they would be sure the Trustee received them. (our house payment was only $425 and our car payment was only $220 and we paid $100.00 per month on our ONE credit card). We were shocked.

In October, 2000 we were told sorry they had forgotten to file our Bankruptcy case with he courts and would get right on it.

They filed the Bankruptcy, but it was too late. Little did we know our home had already been foreclosed on and they had received the paperwork and kept all our payments for their OWN FEES. We were told by another attorney we had no recourse at that point in time and lost everything we had worked for within the next 6 months.

DO NOT use Dickerson Law firm, please.
