Ordered dinette set with designer tabletop to the tune of almost $900. Received completely incorrect top which was of far inferior quality & appearance. Did not match the rest of the set or even resemble what I actually ordered. Called to alert company of mistake, was treated with little concern. Was required to return incorrect top at my own inconvenience, was told that the correct top had been ordered, but was not exactly the same as the one in the showroom. I needed to look at it to determine if it was o.k. It was the same exact incorrect top I had already received!!

Company tells me it will now cost an additional $700 to receive the correct top.

Company refuses to refund my money or give me the correct top unless I cough up the additional $700. They did offer to refund me $30 for the difference in price between the top I received & the top I ordered. Hmmm... do the math. $700 to get the correct top, $30 refund to accept the incorrect top - how can both of those statements be true?

Now I have a useless table base with no top. The main reason I selected this set was for the top - it was very unique & looked great. The one on display in the store is damaged, so I can't request that one.

If I am unable to get a refund, I will have to find another top. This will cost even more time & money, since I will be buying it separately & get no discount for being part of a set. If it has to be special ordered, I may have to wait several weeks, so here I am with $900 out of pocket & no dining room table for an indefinite period of time.

To Whom It May concern,
The "designer" glass in question here is an imported piece of glass imported by the factoy who makes the set that this customer ordered.
it has whats called a "chipped edge".

We have no control over factory
supplies/inventory,available materials, etc..

Without our knowledge,
The factory substituted a very similar style of glass as to what we ordered.
the box and #'s were exactly the same on our invoice, as well as the price.

When the customer told us the glass was different than what he expected I immediately contacted the factory.
It was explained to me that they no longer had that exact piece of glass available and that it had been replaced with this new style.
I explained to them the customer was not satisfied with that, they told me they only had 2 styles of glass chipped and bevelled and that if he wanted the bevelled it would be 30$ less.

I explained the information the factory gave me.He wasnt satisfied so I tried to find other sources that could possibly provide that exact piece of glass in question. the only thing I could find instead of imported glass was to have it manufactured,which does not guarantee the exact type of edge and would be at a cost of 700.00$which we also think is outrageous but I didnt have any alternatives. I explained that we are not responsible and have no control over what a factory has in materials on hand as stated in the sales agreement. Its just a fact, nobody was trying to get or take advantage of him in any way.We gave him every option we had to offer.

the set he purchased was a custom order size,shape,color and fabric. To say the only reason he ordered it was because of the glass is ridiculous, its a beautiful set of furniture regardless of the edge of the glass,which even the options available after the original wasn't available, were very nice pieces of glass, he was not going to get some cheap piece of glass.he just wasn't satisfied with anything else.

so he kept the set and decided to try get his money back on his credit card quite some time later. And keep the furniture! when the credit card co. contacted us we explained the situation and tried again to obtain the same orig. piece of glass through the original co. that made the set, since some time had passed we thought maybe there had been a change in suppliers or something.

We once again explained to the factory that this customer is going to extreme lengths to keep his furniture and get his money back and if there was any possibility to get the orig. glass he had to have. they told me that they now could get that glass but unless they bought it in huge quantities it was quite a bit more expensive, but they would go ahead and order it for him to resolve any dispute.

I accepted the glass brand new in the box and did not open the box until he came to see it.We opened the box inspected it together, he accepted it and left.

The only other time we heard from him was in a voice mail left at our store at 2:30am. stating "yeah you gave me the right glass but its pretty much flawed throughout and must be some kind of 2nd or damaged that we pawned off on him"
and then threatened us saying "this isnt over and that he'll get us back"[ WE INSPECTED IT TOGETHER!]
And if that wasnn't fun enough 1 and a half yrs. later he called again in the middle of the night calling us rip offs and all kinds of stuff. and if you dont believe it we kept all these vc. mail messages.
This was a very rare situation that was completely out of the hands of Dinettes For less , we always strive to provide the best products and service to all our customers.

Since I paid for half of this set w/a credit card, I was able to get the charge reversed since I didn't receive the correct product.

Amazing... as soon as this company no longer had all my money, I started getting phone calls saying the correct item was on its way. It would be there in 2-3 DAYS, I was told.

Fast forward to 3 WEEKS later, still no tabletop. By this point, I've had it. Made other arrangements for a top, did not want to deal with Dinettes For Less anymore, figured I could cut my losses.

Then I start getting rude, condescending, hateful messages from the owner of the place saying the correct item was in, why hadn't I picked it up and so forth. The messages were VERY rude, if only you could hear them! Did I say they were RUDE?

Anyway, I decide to just go look at the d@mn thing to see if it's the right one this time, so the guy will get off my back. The tabletop appears to be the right one, so I take it home.

Low & behold, once I get it set up on the table base & the light shines on it, I see the thing is covered in flaws!!! (It's glass, I couldn't tell in the store because there wasn't enough light & it was on its side). It looks like it's not new at all, but one that was returned as defective!

So, after all the trips down there, breaking my back moving all these glass tops around & wasting countless hours of my life, I am stuck w/an expensive piece of cr@p that I'll have to cover w/a tablecloth! I will reiterate that the only reason I chose this set was for the unique glass top & now I can't even let that part show because it's too flawed!!!

The owner of Dinettes For Less has made it abundantly clear that he will never refund my money under any circumstances, so pursuing this with him is pointless. My only hope is to keep disputing with the credit card folks.

This business does not care about service or product quality, only getting your money. Do yourself a favor & shop elsewhere!
