Direct Moving And Storage I cannot get a phone call back from this company to start a claim for missing items after my shipment was received. Please DON'T hire this company!!! North Hollywood California

The comany gave us a low quote in comparison to other moving companies we researched for our move from California to Utah. The truck arrived on Saturday August 2nd, 2008. The driver and crew were supposed to take the truck to the weight station and call us with the weigh ticket, which they never did.

While our stuff was in storage, we called to inquire about the weight of our items, so we would know what to expect upon delivery. When they finally called, we were told the price was nearly doubled from our original quote. The driver told us that we're actually getting a deal, becuase our stuff was weight over 4000 pounds, but becuase we signed the "binding agreement," this held the company to a maximum of 4000 lbs. Our initial quote was for 2000 lbs.

After our shipment finally came, 1 1/2 weeks later than what they told us. then we realized our table legs were not included. Our table is useless without the legs. We wanted to start a claim and were given the claim departments phone number via email. The claim dept. told me the company had to call them first to start the claim.

Since then (about 3 weeks ago), I have not been able to get the company on the phone to start this claim. I keep calling everyday, different times of the day, no matter what the answering service continues to answer. I continue to leave messages, but have NOT received a return call.

Please heed my warning. Do NOT use this company, no matter what, even if they give a great initial qoute.
