On Nov 29th, I received a plain white envelope and it appeared to have my name and address hand written.  Upon further review, you can tell it is a computer genertated font made to look like it was hand written.  And the sender info just had, again, what appeared to be a sticker with just the address of the sender, but looking closer, you can tell this was part of the actual envelope.  This is all part of the lure.  To make it seem you were hand picked.

The top of the letter said it was from "Authentic Gift Delivery Notification, West Palm Beach".  The body of the letter states they are pleased to inform me that I'm going to receive an Android Touchpad talet computer from the gifting deparment at no charge.  All I had to do was "simply call the gifting department at 561-613-6726 and reference the RSVP gift code printed at the bottom of the letter.  It's that easy!"  There is another paragraph that states "because previous attempts to reach me have been unsuccessful, this correspondence will serve as my Final Notification".  I have never received a letter or phone call in regards to winning anything.  No where in the letter does it refernce DirectBuy other than the signature and "job title" of Marc Nadeau at the bottom.

I called the number referenced on the letter but I blocked my phone number.  I gave the RSVP code at the bottom and asked how I can pick up my prize.  I was congradulated on my win and we can start the process by giving my phone number.  I explained that I was unsure of where I was calling and was not comfortable in giving that information out but wanted more info on the tablet I won.  The women on phone claims that she can not go into detail until she had my phone number.  I told her the letter I received does not reference requirement of my phone, only the RSVP number.  The women on the phone said, "well, I guess if you want your tablet, you will call back with your phone number" and hung up on me.

Clearly, i already knew it was a scam which is why I blocked my number, but I wanted to warn everyone that if they receive any such letters from anywhere that requires you to call them back, please block you number before calling them. It's very simple to block your number, dial *67 then dial the number...easy as that.  Or, better yet, don't even call them!

Theae types of telemarketers will get your phone number and try any trick to either get you to buy something or come down to listen to some presentation on services you most likley don't need or can not afford, than claim they dont have the "item" you won.  I will be sending a copy of my letter to the FL State Attoreny's office and to the US Postal Service since they used the regular mail to send false and misleading information.

Please dont fall for their scam and you dont want to pay $7000 for a membership for home goods when most likey you can buy whatever item you need for less than the 7 grand they want from you.
