You are absolutely correct. These people pressure you into attending school and then try to use how you feel about your life circumstances against you. I spoke with Brian Egan and at first thought that he was trying to help me, but when I tried to get information about how to withdraw he started playing this mind game against me and using information off my application to advise me I was making the wrong decision. Then after withdrawing they are charging me $600 for attending one week of class. They are a true rip off. I withdraw before my loan was disbursed and they did not return the whole portion. Now they are not communication accordingly about the loan funds. They are a rip off...Everyone needs to stay away from this school. They will ruin you.

Disappointed in Georgia, AIU is not a ripoff at all. It sounds like you might have decided to cancel your admissions after the date in the student guide that all students say they read as part of their agreement to enroll. As an Alumnus of AIU Online, I can't say enough good about the quality of education I received. It has greatly enhanced my knowledge in the field of education and has significantly enhanced my upward progression. AIU is regionally accredited and many companies have partnered with AIU and their degrees are accepted by the defense industry, government agencies and corporate America.
I'm not sure what happened with the accounting department in your case but if that is the issue, lets just say that instead of labeling AIU as a whole, as a ripoff. I for one think their financail aid department is the weak spot for this otherwise fine university. However, labeling AIU as a ripoff is a little excessive and does a disservice to hard working professionals like myself that are alumni, current students and instructors that are affiliated with AIU.
For working professionals that want a good quality education that is more in tune with the latest trends in the workplace and fits a working persons schedule, this is a valuable resource for continuing education. However, if you are undecided, make sure before you sign a contract, so that you don't have problems with fees owed after backing out.
Disapponted in Georgia may have a legit beef with AIU accounting department but the University as a whole provides a high quality education with very professional instructional staff. Let's put this in context : )
