My husband and I have been with DISH Satellite TV for many years - more than 10 years.  All was well until around August, 2017.

Before that, we would sign new contracts with them, when our contracts reached its term limit.  The customer service people were always happy to extend any discounts and preferred customer prices.

We signed our last contract with them in February, 2017.  NOW COMES AUGUST, 2017.  Something changed and DISH went from having Good Customer Service to Bad Customer Service.

I guess, at that time, their corporate office slogan was to be LEAN AND MEAN.

It all began with a phone call I made, in early August, 2017 to Customer Service.  Instead of being directed to regular Customer Service, my call was directed to THE PRESIDENTIAL LINE.

Some guy named DAN took my call and "in a nervous manner" informed me that YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN FLAGGED BY CORPORATE OFFICE FOR ASKING FOR ONE TOO MANY DISCOUNTS."

He went onto to inform me that YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY FURTHER DISCOUNTS AFTER YOUR CONTRACT RUNS OUT. I tried to explain to him that the discounts were granted and that customer service seemed happy to continue my business.

Dan went onto say, IF YOU CALL US MORE THAN 1 TIME PER MONTH, WE WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE YOUR CONTRACT ON THE SPOT. I was floored, as you can imagine, and asked to speak to someone else.

This is when RAY, came on the line - again saying the same things Dan said. I filed a complaint with the FCC - Federal Communications Commission on August 10, 2017. I received a phone call from a very AUTHORITATIVE AND RUDE person named DAVE.  Last name not necessary to write. 

DAVE informed me that he was on the Executive Escalation Team and a Dispute Resolution Specialist.  To me, he resolved nothing except to be rude any horrible to me. He informed me DISH IS LOSING MONEY ON YOU.  I said, how is that possible, since you have been getting good money from us for all these years!

Dave did not care.  Instead, he sent me a nasty and uncalled for letter, saying that we should not event think about asking for any discounts in the future. I still have the letter.

Now to present time.  I called DISH on February 5th, 2019, since our contract was ending February 11, 2019.  During that 2 years 2017-2019, we paid $84.82, tax included for the 250 package.

To make this long story, short, several customer service people tried to give me a lower rate, but SINCE OUR ACCOUNT WAS 'FLAGGED', THEY SAID THAT I MUST PAY THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE RATE OF $ 111.82.

(In other words, other customers would get a reduced rate, by NOT us.  Sounds like DISCRIMINATION to me.)

I refused.  The service was turned off on February 11, 2019. I filed another complaint with the FCC, but I suspect, it will go no where. All I can say here is that DISH TV, in their Corporate Greed, has lost a long time customer.

I have read many Consumer Reports and Reviews on DISH TV.  Most of them are negative, and some reports have similar stories to our tale of woe. DISH TV rates have gone up each and every year.  Programs Removed.  Lots of "junk" type programming with more and more advertising.

Not worth the high price and the bad attitude this company has against customers - like myself.  In my opinion, we were treated badly, and will not allow ourselves to be ripped-off by DISH TV.
