Distinct Advantage ripoff Largo Florida

I was contacted last week by a man who rambled off something about giving me 100 dollars freee gas and flight milage. He told me there was no obligation to buy anything and that my bank (of which he knew the name) had given them, Distinct Advantage, a travel agency, my phone number, and bank account routing number as well as my home address.

I told him that was b*lls*#@t, and he wanted me to verify who I was by giving him my routing number...when I refused, he proceeded to read off my routing number to me. This is when my heart sank. I heard a constant uproar in the background of where this guy was calling from and I asked where he was calling from and he said his office. I asked what all the hooting and hollaring was that I was hearing and he stated that one of his coworkers had just gotten word that his wife had a baby.

He continued by reading to me, my home address and this is when I made myself very clear. I slowly and deliberately shared a few words with this young man. I told him that I was involved in a similar scam over a decade ago and I was caught and I did my time, and I know exactly what he is doing and he will get no further with me. I followed by saying that since my bank and he were working in conjunction with one another, he would have no problem hearing from them Monday morning. He said fine and hung up.

I regret not having contacted my bank, because for the past 4 days Distinct Advantage has been calling non-stopped under the above Florida number as well as 1-800-634-6729, 1-888-669-8868, and 1-800-963-6230.
So from what I understand from reading others entries, is that I have to take the time to type up a professional letter to a lawyer and then do some other things.....there has got to be an easier way to let these guys know that they are wasting their time with me. I also read someones advice that ou should NOT threaten them with violence? Why the hell not? What can they do? Arent they the ones breaking the law?
