DOGS DESERVE BETTER Tamira ci Thayne Warning - Do Not Foster - Warning Smithfield, Virginia

  Never reimbursed by DDB for the money I spent on one their dogs... seems to a common theme with the owner Tamira burning people and not paying up as promised. I have a foster dog through them, and was promised they would provide the food and vet care for the animal, an adult pittbull, but they provided dog food once. We have remained on speaking terms, but only to try to help local animals, not for support for DDB. I try to see the good in what they are trying to do, but at the same time, animals on chains arent the only ones needing help.

I have always been very leary about their organization as a whole, due to a personal experience that was shared with me. They donated a dog box to be used by the dog, and were told it was to be delivered to her that day. Later, the dog passed away, and they wrote everywhere that she died with no shelter from the sun. They were very upset as they DID donate a box for her, and also offered DDB enough fence to give her owners to fence in a kennel that would have been 12x24. They would have needed to get a gate and a few posts, as this was left over material from their fenced in yard. DDB declined the offer from the fence, saying that it wasnt enough to fence the owners entire yard, so DDB didnt want it at all. When they contacted DDB to see why the dog never got the dog house, they said that its not their policy to give out dog boxes, because they do not approve outdoor pets. Im not sure why they even took it in the first place then. They had not contacted them to get it, DDB asked them if they would donate it. They don't own outdoor animals but they had a few large dog boxes they kept outside for stray animals who might be stuck out in the elements. They hadn't had any in a while, so thought it was ok to let it go. Now they have feral cats hanging around their barn, and nothing for them as they gave DDB the dog house, and sadly, they never delivered it like they had said they would. When speaking with DDB, they also said some things were viewed as outrageous, especially from a "rescue".
