Consumer's Original Complaint :
Dolan Moving and Storage moved our house on 5/30/2007 and quoted us in "writing" $3151.00 for the entire move and agreed to by their representative and written on their own forms and letter-head. They also quoted us $480 a month to store our items. We have paid them over $5000 approx so far and have offered a one time payment of $7500 more now for the return of our personal belongings. We can afford to go as high as $10,000.00. The over-charged us for the move and sent a bill for $5338. Plus, they over-charged us monthly at a rate $606 a month. This was disputed through an attorney we hired. They failed to mitigate their damages by contunuing this over billing practice and ignoring our disputes for 4 years, knowing we could not pay it and did not agree to these fees or charges. Reasonable monthly in-door storage at Westy's in Danbury, CT quoted us $140.00 a month for a unit the size we would need. In addition, they were supposed to store the items in a "climate controlled" facility. This is not true, I am told. Our belongings are in storage containers on the property in the extreme cold and hot sun. Most likely, a lot of stuff is damaged or ruined. If we agree to pay the $5338, even though it is more than quoted for our move, and pay a reasonable rate of $200 a month, more than other local storage facilities charge even, they would be receiving $15,000.00. A number I feel is reasonable and would avoid any furter issue or problems in this matter. They definitely would not get that at auction. They have refused to negotiate with us or our attorney at all each time we have increased our offer. They just refuse to even respond to us. I feel they are intentionally stealing our items and forcing us to pay the outrageous fees they over-charged us by way of extortion. They are holding our LIFE HOSTAGE. I would like to resolve this matter without lititgation. All we want is our stuff back and we are willing to pay them a reasonable fee for their services. Not something I would think is unreasonable.

Consumer's Desired Resolution:
We would like them to accept our reasonable offers for payment to them and return our belongings. I do not beleive that is an unreasonable request as they would get less at auction. They have refused to acknowledge any offer wer have made this year to resolve this issue and now are selling or discarding our personal items on July 25, 2011.
