Look out for charges you don't know about, unfair policies, and lies. I twice purchased kitchen flooring and used their installer only the first time. But I asked if they still had my measurements in the computer, and they did. I commented that he'd know what to order and sat quietly while he filled out the order form, and then I signed the completed form. I did not read the front side (nor the back), which stated "No Returns." Even if I did, it wouldn't matter because he ordered what I needed; right? Wrong! He ordered more than I needed, without telling me nor asking if I wanted the extra boxes. (Adding overage supposedly is common in case of breakage. But I ordered laminate, not the more delicate ceramic tile.) I had two extra boxes that I was stuck with - at a cost of $88 and $28 worth of unused trim. I was refused a refund.

I complained to BBB and none of the notices were answered, and they dropped the case (and their rating from B- to F). I then complained to Department of Consumer Services and they got a response. Actually, BBB got the response and I kept up with both parties. They claimed that they offered me a refund (less a stockage fee),. which I refused. Now, if I wanted a refund and they offered one, why would I refuse it and complain to BBB? Lie #1!. Then they said I told the salesman to order exactly the same number of boxes that I had on my first purchase. I was in no position to make such a request. Lie #2! Then they said they offered me a credit, which I refused. That is true. But credit means "to be used in the store toward another purchase," and I verified this with many people. I wanted no part of the store again and would not use a credit. But later they added that they offered me a credit on my credit card. They offered me credit, period. Lie #3!. I did accept a re-offer of that credit card credit (which was to be accompanied by papers to sign that I would not complain against the company again). However, BBB thought the offer of credit was okay and they dropped the case.. Consumer Services was ready to close the case as well. I informed them that I had accepted the credit card credit and left them with one thought. Their reaction to that thought was to re-open the case. This must have really annoyed the Dolphin rep because he ceased corresponding with the department and, of course, me. I left the unopened boxes and trim in my hallway for anyone to take, at my loss of more than $100.

The no refund policy is unfair, as is the policy of adding overage to an order without notifying customers and giving them the option of refusing the extra boxes.
