2 Examples to Describe Don Hummer Trucking, Case in Point.
Arrive Walmart at Distribution Center 5:05 Depart Walmarts 9:00 Am Arrive Truck Stop 9:30 eat and map planning for next assingment 9:30-10:00 Comments From Dispatcher, When Are U Planning on Departing to Shipper. This is coming from a company that tell you not to use a gps system for trucking!!! My Reply, I am working on it. Company reply, No! You have been sitting for 2 hours!!
Spent several hours trying to depart Dallas, Tx. after severe weather and snow storm. Traffic has stopped due to several police cars on opposite side of highway. Half an hour leter two over side loads on both side of the highway, both with excorts, thus taking up two lanes heading north on 35. Eigth hours after leaving shipper, and 3 hours waiting to get loaded due to Driver Manager failure to provide proper information to pick up load, I stop for ten minutes for bathroom break, and a Subway Sandwich to go.
When I get back to the truck, I am comfroted with the message, "Why Aren't you Moving"!!! I Need You to keep Moving!!
This Company Actually complained when I cashed a PO and got cash to pay a Lumper, and told me thaT i had Violated Company Policy, and Would be Released! Oh, They get paid every two weeks, which I found out at orientation, despite several calls from recruiter. My last check 3 days prior to pay day for only the second time, and a month and a half, was laughable, and Joke!

I've been with Don trucking for a couple of years now, and I have dealt with all the driver managers and never have I heard any of them talk to a driver that way... and I have never had any problem with any of my settlements.. Don Hummer Trucking is an awesome company to work for... I guess you just can't satisfy some drivers...

I looked online and it sems this is the worst of what has to be said about Don Hummer.
I have been looking far and wide for stability and reliability.
Seems like they pay well as well as per diem etc.
The insurance is the only thing I kind of dont want to get roped into. $130 a week.
If anybody has updates on them please let me know otherwise I am looking at this as a one time incident.
It's a long drive for me to go from NJ to Iowa for orientation.
